Hello, I'm A.C. Melody, a hybrid author both traditionally and self-published thriving in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I come from a family of musicians and artists, and love ancient civilizations, mythology and culture.

Erotica and all its savory sub-genres is my absolute favorite to read and write. I have a weakness for Hard Ass Alphas with bad attitudes and it’s icing if they’re supernatural on top of it. I write strong women, no matter how submissive or demure they are, they have a core of strength.

As an Indie advocate, I've been sharing helpful tips and resources on my blog at https://acmelodyblog.wordpress.com There you'll discover the Indie Resources section on the main menu where I hope you and many others can find great ways to

I have to confess, I never set out to make a book about Norse Mythology, because of how little I knew about it. But I'm always trying to find the origins of things, so when I was searching for the "oldest" legends about wolves, of course, Asgard is exactly where I ended up! Not saying the sagas are the source of all wolf tales, but once I got there, I didn't want to leave.

Somehow, I had the same 'knowledge' I think we all hear as children about Odin, Thor, Loki and the Valkyrie. Which, as adults, some learn is mostly wrong–or Disney-diluted–while others never learn any differently, because they read or watch Marvel. And I'm a huge Marvel fan, so that's not a slam - but Thor is about 90% inaccurate when it comes to real Norse Mythology. The biggest surprise was learning that Loki is way older than Odin, and the father of major players like the Fenrir, the world snake, Odin's eight-legged horse and the Goddess Hel. I think he's some kind of uncle to Odin according to the (mostly unreliable) Aesir family tree, because they all came from giants (Jotun).

Anyway, without going into a long lecture on all I've already learned, I will say there is still so much more I have yet to even glimpse. The Norse Mythos is vast, complex and surprisingly human. The Vikings had Gods that walked among them, vulnerable as much as they were powerful, and expected to make the same kind of sacrifices for greatness and good. I'm hoping as the Ulfrinn series progresses, I'll be able to share more of the fascinating and less heard of parts of this incredible, ancient culture.(less)

Uh-Oh, It’s Another Rant on How NOT to Write Female Characters!

Oh, yeah, I’m going there…again. And this is nearly kismet-level timing with Marquessa over at The Next Chapter who just published a writing challenge post about Pet Peeves. Check it out, and all of her other posts, too!

While her article covers three pet peeves, I’m only ranting about one of my biggest because you see, I’m really–I mean really–trying to read this book right now and th

"Hexed continues the Hell on Earth saga of demons living among us.

Zoe Bankes was at her BFF’s side as Kameo Kross went through her life-changing journey. She’s tasked with keeping Kami’s and Saphiel’s secret… that demons are real.

When she gets her own" Read more of this review »

“We will always be greedy for more land, more wealth, power, luxury, more freedom, friends, love, sex, more of anything and everything that brings us some sense of fulfillment or pleasure. Philosophers are greedy for more knowledge, missionaries are greedy for more sheep to add to their flock, so despite all of the ‘virtuous’ things they do, greed is still a major motive behind their actions. The world is run by avarice. It’s the foundation beneath every aspect of our existence.”

“16 Things Romance Readers Are Tired Of Hearin

1. All Romance books are exactly the same.
2. The endings are so predictable.
3. You know romance doesn't happen like that in real life.
4. You're setting unrealistic expectations for yourself about love.
5. Real men don't have abs like that.
6.So you think you're going to go on a lot of dates?
7. So you think you're going to fall in love with an ex-boyfriend?
8. ...or a billionaire?
9. ...or a duke?
10. So you'll stop reading romances when you have a boyfriend, right?
11. It's basically mommy porn, right?
12. I could write a romance book.
13. Do you only read female authors?
14. I saw the Notebook once.
15. Is Danielle Steel your favorite author?
16. Do you read REAL books?”
