A discovery of witches over all story line might work.

Have a look as Rice’s Mayfair Witches. That’s definitely a thread through the series, and eventually it merges with the Vampire series.

Can’t remember how many books in the babydemon takes to show up, but it might even be in the first one. The demons a main thread, and there’s a whole other line on the babygrow thread.

There’s also one where ‘the next heir’ is forced/blackmailed into getting a true heir on the young wife. She doesn’t know who it is.

There’s a series of the siblings of the ‘next heir’ that the evil lord/husband separated and hid before he died. The oldest brother was this H. The other brother was pressed into shipping/slave, the sister was sold into or ended up in the sex trade and was a highly desirable mistress by the time the stories come around.

If it sounds familiar, I’ll hunt for it.

I know this, it’s one of those ex military security agency ones. The H can’t figure out why one of the ‘head women’ in the town fought so hard to stop him from starting the business… she was the one who found the h crying in the hall and never forgave him!

Almost certain this is the Fire Chronicles. Dragons don’t Cry is the first book.
