It is NOT "Bring on the night" by Jay Davis.

"The Coldest Touch" by Isabel Sterling is YA but matches more details.

"When" by Victoria Laurie has some of the same themes but it's YA. I'll keep looking.

I was thinking of "the chosen" by Sharon Sala but I don't think it was the one you're looking for.

"Beach Read" does have a MC named January who is a chick lit author, so it could be. However, I've also read a book with a MC whose sisters weren named after months, that could be what you're looking for. I'll try to find it.

I don't think it's "Running With the Dead" by Jay Brandon either.

It is NOT "Fault Lines" by Anna Salter.

It is NOT "Blood Price" by Tanya Huff, but they are similar.

I've read that one! She's a great writer, but that's not it. Thank you for suggesting it, though.

It is also NOT "Naked Addiction" by Caitlin Rother.

It's also NOT "Urge to kill" by John Lutz.

It's NOT "the Black Ace" by G B Joyce.

It is NOT "holding Court" by K C Held, although that's somewhat similar.
