Thanks, Ashwin! :) Was it you the one who shared another TV series named...ugh, I'm sorry...Satyamev Jayate, maybe?

Kaddish, which is basically a long elegy to his mother, Naomi, a rather extraordinary woman whose life was sadly undermined by a series of mental disorders.
If you are intent on reading female poets, however, the Beatnik Gen had quite a few of them. There is this antology called Beat Attitude, it's a bilingual Spanish-English edition so you can still enjoy the poems in there. :) Many of the female poets in that book deserve to be called feminists.

I'll wait for the transcript x"Yeah, I'm still working on the transcription! Sorry, personal life and work got in the way, but I'll make sure to share it here ASAP!

Hey, Andrea, thanks for posting this! I did not know about this challenge and although sadly I do not think I can take on much more than what I'm currently trying to read (I despise myself for saying this, gosh!), I will certainly try and add some of those categories to my own personal bookshelf this year. :)

Por cierto, Leo, no sabía que hablases español. Hasta ahora siempre habías usado el inglés por aquí. :)

Hehe, thanks for thinking we were all native! Took me a while to properly blend in the crowd... :D

Yeah, Scribd has been a feasible option for many, particularly after prices got out of hand (and that's a polite way to put it!) Thanks for the tip, Aida! However, this thread is very similar to others that are already functioning, so we've got to close this one for the sake of management, hehe. :)

Hey, Ahmed! Please post your contribution at the photos section. Right upper corner if you are on your laptop. :)

There's actually been more than a couple of members voicing such concerns, I seem to remember, and I do believe they're legitimate ones. All I can say is, being only three months into it I guess that it's just been a coincidence that all of our authors came from there, what with their texts being so very important and relevant to the cause and what not. I certainly hope myself to see other authors featured in our list, and it is something that we will make sure to adequately address when it's time for Emma to pick the next books! :)

Yikes. :( Not a pleasant surprise.

Hi, Tejas! Welcome to OSS! :) It's always a pleasure to have new people joining us.
As for having some words with Emma, I'm not really sure what you mean, but it's not like any of us here get to talk to her regularly. It's not the purpose of this group, either - at this point, Emma is more like the one who brought us all together, and now we just engage in as fruitful of a debate as possible with other members. So, although I have to close and archive this thread, I'm looking forward to seeing you around on the boards! :)

Matthew, I can so relate to your thoughts on book covers. Not that I've ever been much interested in chick-lit, but I must acknowledge that a huge part of my lack of interest is due to the book covers in this genre. Pink, girlish, flowers, shopping...uh, no thanks. Pass me the hardcore stuff, I tend to say. The 'real' lit. It goes without saying that I also apply this logic to other genres and covers, but chick-lit is definitely high there in the list. As for this book in particular, hmmmm, didn't give it much thought. Not enamoured by the cover, but not reluctant towards it either.

So far I'm doing the transcription and I hope to offer you the translation into Spanish pretty soon! :) However, it'd be lovely to have as many languages as possible, so once I've got the transcription ready (pretty, pretty soon as I've already started!), I'll leave it here so that each of you can contribute with your mother tongue, as long as you feel prepared for the task! :)

I would suggest abebooks.com! :) Always have a few UK retailers...

Hey, Luckness! We always try to do our best to cover as many people and circumstances as possible with each book choice! Believe me when I say, I'm always worried about the translation availability. However, it would prove fairly challenging to find a book for which translations in every language were readily available. I still feel we made a good job with regard to that issue back in February, but we'll keep doing our best over the following months.
The same could apply to the claim for authors coming from different parts of the world - I had not really realised that so far we've stayed in the US! I'm sure next months will bring upon a bit of variety. :)

If it's anything similar to the courses I've done at edX up until now, it's gonna be definitely worth the effort. I'm only a bit pissed off that they don't offer any certificate other than the $45 one. Plenty of MOOC still offer a free version of the certificate and although I won't say that those equal paid education IRL, well you never know if they might come in handy.

Haven't seen it myself, I'm afraid! Still, I would suggest we all keep these questions on the general thread for the book announcement, otherwise it'll only add to the already huge amount of threads that we already have! On my phone right now, but maybe another mod can check in?

It could stay here as well! *Full-fledged mod mode* Just to keep it easy to find!
