Same same! I thought the judge was surprisingly brutal with The Book of Love, in the sense that the judges usually make their essays a bit more pro-whatever book they are judging. This one had nothing good to say about Book of Love lol (even if I do agree with them, I was still surprised).
I'm currently 3-0 with the judgements and feeling very proud of myself lol

Oh goodness hope you all feel better!
I finished 4 excellent books this week so I'm very pleased! Glad to have read with all of you.

Caitie, wasn't that such a great memoir??
I finished
Jackpot Summer on my run this morning. Using it for What dreams did you have as a little kid? - in it, the family wins the lottery!
Beach ReadTPBM recommends a book by an Irish author

I only read nonfiction on audio - I can never focus on it enough in print. Thanks for the rec! I listened to
How to Say Babylon and it was WONDERFUL.

Agreed! It was a bit different than the usual style of commentary but I thought she did a good job comparing the two and I’m glad James won. Sometimes judges will go with the underdog for the sake of shunning popularity, but I think James deserved the win here.

I finished
Swept Away last night! Using it for "Who do you most like spending time with?" - the couple in the book are stuck at sea and spend a lot of time together haha! If I'm not alone, I'd rather be with my husband.

There's a newsletter you can sign up for that will email you when the judgement is posted each day, but the results go live around noon (EST) each weekday if you'd rather just go to the website.

Hooray for the first day of the Tournament, and hooray for my pick to win the play-in round!!

Oh I did love Attachments when I read it (less so Fangirl, but that's because I wasn't the target audience, not because it wasn't good).

Wow Joyce, what a story. I love that so much!!

I love that answer, Caitie!
John Green's newest nonfiction book came out yesterday -
Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection

It is 100% because I reused old material and not indicative of any pattern. Life is a bit chaotic at the moment so I pulled the challenge from previous years. Can't say it won't pop up again, but hopefully I have a bit more brain space to create something new next year lol

Great work team! I am in the depths of tax season, so even though I'm "off work" today for Mardi Gras, I spent all of naptime getting work done, and the toddler doesn't allow much reading focus haha! I'll likely get more audio in this week than print, but that's ok.

Hey Kayleigh, you can join Thelma & Louise!

You can also use your wild cards for TPBM books!

Your call. My thinking was that you could fill it early (like you could fill spot 20 before spot 19), but you needed to fill it before moving forward (so you would have to fill spot 20 before going to spot 21).
However, if that holds up your group or makes this frustrating, then y’all can decide as a team that as long as someone has a book in progress for that spot, you can skip it and come back to it. I won’t be the challenge police on this one, and it’s not a competition, so do whatever makes this fun for your group.
I would definitely say you shouldn't skip more than one though (so you need to fill spot 20 before you get to spot 30).

Bahahahaha
March 2: 180 + 61

I'll fill one in for NancyJ
