Started this one yesterday on the Hugh Fraser Audible version. Very atmospheric and brilliantly read.

173974 Great challenge Susan. Martin Edwards' book is a fantastic way to kick it all off.
173974 Thanks Icewineanne. I shall bookmark that series to try next.
173974 I love the Midsomer Murders books so I've gone for it. Thanks Icewineanne :-)

I see there's a 'box set' of the first 5 books in this series for 99p on Kindle at the moment. It seems like too much of a bargain to pass up but I'm strangely reluctant to take the plunge. I've read her Monica Noble series which I generally enjoyed but this series seems less cozy and I wonder if I'll find it too procedural.

Thanks Judy. I saw something about that and thought 'oh, same title as a Nicholas Blake novel', it never occurred to me that it actually was!

There is also a book about the residents of the Isokon flats which sounds fascinating The Lawn Road Flats: Spies, Writers and Artists

That's an odd coincidence as I was reading in another group that Charlotte MacLeod was referred to as the American Agatha Christie - I just had to go back and check it wasn't the same writer!

173974 Thank-you for the youtube link for the Simon Brett talk, Judy. I was hoping it would be available to watch somewhere.

173974 I've really enjoyed the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths and wonder if anyone has come across anything similar i.e. involving an archaeologist, (or even a conservationist or historian) set in modern Britain?

Thanks Lesley. It did look a bit complicated to tackle with the risk of messing it up altogether.

173974 When I came to add a book to my currently reading shelf, I found that there were two entries on Goodreads for the author, one with with a Goodreads Author label with all her details and one with no details and no picture. Most of her books are in the correct place, but the one I'm reading was attached to the 'unofficial' page along with several books which are in both.

Is this something I can correct myself or do I have to refer it on somewhere? Any advice would be appreciated.

These are the two pages:

173974 I love Talking Pictures. I watched a great film on there yesterday morning with Peter Vaughan called Smokescreen.

And I've just spootted The Wolves of Willoughby Chase is on later today.
