NOVELS

My latest book is "Death at the Village Christmas Fair", the third in my Cotswold Curiosity Shop Mystery series. The series begins with "Death at the Old Curiosity Shop", followed by "Death at the Village Chess Club". In this series, moving from the city to the lively Cotswold village of Little Pride, Alice Carroll (50) discovers that nothing is quite what it seems in her new business enterprise. Each novel in

The Joys of Armchair Travel

After having to cancel a planned mini-break in Bruges due to illness, I’m now settling down into near-hibernation mode for the winter, at least in terms of travel. Not that I have travelled much this year, with short breaks in Norfolk and Scotland. Even so, I’m glad to raise my metaphorical drawbridge and spend a few months on my home turf.

Physically, that is.

I’ll still be travelling far an

Highly entertaining, quirky cosy mystery set in a university where there are some decidedly dodgy goings on. Lots of great one-liners that made me laugh aloud, and I also enjoyed the 80s setting, not least because I was in my prime then! A very funny ...more

This is a beautiful, slow-burn story of one man's struggle to sustain his African farm, in the face of diversity.

“My dear Sophie, whatever you do, live a life worth writing down. Then write it down. Ever with you, Auntie May”.”
Debbie Young, Best Murder in Show

“Are you any good at baking cakes? Preserves? Chutneys? Wines?” I felt inadequate. “No, not at all. To recognise my level of skill in the kitchen, they’d have to have a category for toast.”
