Ah, wel..."I completely agree with the recommendation. The Phryne Fisher show is very good. The setting, the actors and characters, the costumes and the plot too are really enjoyable.

I just finished
Serpents in Eden: Countryside Crimes. I was better than most of the BLCC anthologies i have read.
I am starting
Murder in the Mill-Race by
E.C.R. Lorac.

I enjoyed this one. I found the setting and the wartime atmosphere quite interesting. I enjoyed the way the author portrayed the victim (sitting and counting his gold like Uncle Scrooge). I kept imagining what he looked like to someone seeing him from the window. I also was quite taken in by the red herrings.
I do agree the method seemed quite far-fetched.

I would like to nominate
The Corpse in the Waxworks: A Paris Mystery by
John Dickson Carr if it is eligible and available to all.
I just finished reading this yesterday and it fits the spooky bill.

In India, the kindle book is under review :(

I would like to nominate
The Spoilt Kill: A Staffordshire Mystery by
Mary Kelly if it is accessible to all.
If anyone knows more about the book than what GR mentions (which isn't much) please feel free to share.
Death of a Busybody and Crossed Skis are on my TBR....so I'm happy to see them here!

Hahahaha..Judy, I think you have covered them all. When you put this way it does sound ridiculous but I did enjoy the book irrespective of the number of disguises.

I reread this book last week and like many here found it light-hearted and fun. I found myself laughing out loud so many times. I also kept suspecting one character till I dropped that one for another only to come back to the previous suspect.
I enjoyed the book quite a bit this time. My first read did not bring me so many laughs. I think I rushed through it to figure whodunit.

I would like to nominate
Checkmate to Murder by
E.C.R. Lorac if it is available to everyone.
I enjoyed Bats in the Belfry and we have only two books by the author on the shelf.

I finished reading this last week. I look forward to everyone's comments. I personally didn't enjoy it much.
Judy wrote: "Good to hear you are enjoying our previous group reads, Shaina! The previous threads are still open if you want to add comments to any of them."Yes! I didn't expect I would enjoy them all but so far I have enjoyed everything I read. I'm happy to read all comments and most of them cover all the points I have. I will add my two pennies in case I have something new.
I also see myself joining Kindle Unlimited for the British Crime Library books and Golden age mysteries.

I'm currently exploring the previous group reads. I recently finished Bats in the Belfry, Death comes to Cambers and yesterday finished The Mystery in White.
As all of them were great (I'm still combing through the archives) I bought another Bobby Owens- Crossword Mystery which I plan to start today ( I think I'm going to read as many as I can in the series)

I'm reading Six against the Yard and it is quite interesting. Dorothy Sayers, Margery Allingham, Anothony Berkeley and 3 others have come up with a perfect murder each and pit their wits against Inspector Cornish.
Rosina wrote: "For me, it seems odd that Commander Dalgleish (surely not a man without authority) can't ask someone to vacate their office so he can conduct interviews of suspects without another suspect as..."I'm still laughing after reading your comments.
All I'm going to say is I didn't enjoy this book.

I'm currently reading
Jumping Jenny by
Anthony Berkeley featuring Roger Sheringham. It is quite interesting.

Thank you, Judy! I appreciate your effort.

Thank you, Judy and Sandy! The GR description of the book seems different from the Amazon description hence I didn't add that bit. If someone has a reliable description of the plot please feel free to share it.

I would like to nominate
Suicide Excepted by
Cyril Hare.
Judy, can you please let me know if it is available at a reasonable price?
