Borealis gave a start and frowned at Farah. "What do you mean we "don't let Borealis anywhere near him! I believe I'm the only one out of the three of us who has had A LOT of experience battling and defeating dragons! It's practically what I do for a living!" He huffed and looked over at Darley, then back at Farah.
________________________________________________________________Laili sighed, her chin cupped in her hands as she stared out onto the glistening lake. The sun was setting and casting orange and red and pink shadows across the water. She fingered her hijab and thought to herself.
Ooooh I especially like Charlotte, the Mad Hatter, John and Michael Darling, and Clayton...any thoughts Ella?
Borealis looked around to see Darley sprinting in. "Hi," he said. "So, it looks like our destination is right there, I guess..." he pointed to the opposite cell/cave, then suddenly doubled over in a fit of coughing. Finally he straightened up again, his eyes watering and red, and a napkin held to his mouth. He let it aside to say, "What is that? Smoke?"
Borealis raised an eyebrow and glanced to where she was nodding. He turned around, then turned back. "How do you know?" he asked.
Borealis descended the tunnels until he found Ruby and Farah. "Hey," he said. "Darley not here yet?" He was whispering, though he didn't quite know why. Slung over his shoulder was a duffel bag, bulging with 'supplies' and he had a scarf tucked into the neck of his jacket. He had left his clothes on while he pretended to go to sleep after dinner, and when finally the soft snores of his roommates told him they were finally asleep, he had crept out and slunk into the Arena, and down the tunnels.
Borealis shrugged, then said, "Alright then, I guess meet you all in Ruby the dragon's cell at 10 - remember, don't let anybody see you're coming down, especially a Director."
"Wait!" Borealis said, holding up his hands. "We need to gather the supplies first! Like some food, water, rope, a bunch of things just in case - you never know, we could get trapped down there and need it! Plus, we kind of have to wait until dark, or at least after dinner, someone's bound to notice us gone, especially if any of us have siblings - my sister for one is gonna track me down for dinner, she insists on eating together at least then." He looked around at Farah and Darley.
Borealis shot a look over at Farah's arm, then his face softened. "Well, I suppose you two'll go down there anyway, whether I'm coming or not..." He said slowly. "...And I can't very well just let two ladies like yourselves go down there ALONE..." He spotted both Darley and Farah give him a warning glare, and he hurried on. "..And I suppose it IS my duty as a prince to make sure you stay safe....so...so, I guess I'm coming with you guys." He gave a long sigh, but his eyes betrayed him. They were flitting all over the place in excitement, as if his mind was already whirling with ideas on bait and the best way to sneak down there after dark.
