It is a category in the US and in the UK, but it has ended up only in the UK one. Fun.

I'd love to be in 3-4 per book because 2 isn't enough!

I find this amusing because it isn't a tie-in for anything, and I get to be right beside Twilight and Frozen! I never selected it, somehow Amazon UK just put it there.
How about your books, are you in any odd categories in other Amazons?

So often I find them taking me down a path other than the one I intended.
I know! The amount of one time joke characters in my book that became the more popular characters in the series is... well, it is two. Still, that is a lot considering they were originally just one time jokes when the book started.

I was surprised when the sad thing made me cry as I wrote it. I knew it was coming after all, but there were still tears.
I was more surprised when the happy thing made me cry. I was legitimately shocked how sweet the character ended up being. Awe, warm fuzzies!

But for me, there is nothing as exciting as an email at 2:14 in the morning telling me that a book has gone live!
Perhaps when the next novel comes out I will do this, but the thrill of when will it show up is too exciting!

Some stories are much easier to find appropriate art or photos for, that is for sure. Genres, theme, style, they all play a big part in this process.
Write a romance story about a woman with a scarf who moves back to her hometown and falls for her old crush that likes sweaters? Yes, that is a premise that a stock photo can be found for providing you are open to the colour of sweater and style of scarf.
Write a space opera about the leader of the Space Valkyries with a scarf who moves to Vortex 8 and falls for the leader of the Space Crocodiles that likes sweaters... you will be in for a harder time on the stock image websites. (Mostly because space crocodiles are not very fond of sweaters.)

Write a Novelette.
Read it at writer's group.
Read it out lout to special joke improving beta.
Send Novelette to beta readers / editing helpers.
Design cover for Novelette while waiting for betas to read it.
Everything falls into place at about the right time that way.
For the actual novels I designed the covers when I needed them for hard copy proofs, then tweaked them during the time before publication.

If you search for yourself, you are more likely to find pictures of yourself, because Google remembers who you are, and what you searched for before (and what you clicked on before, which is you)
So if you really want to see what happens when you look for yourself, you are going to need a completely fresh computer that has never googled before.

- You could find other authors that have similar genres and see if they will have you for an interview.
- You could promote on social media leading up to the release.
- There are various promotional book blogs and sites that will sometimes put up your book for free if you get lucky, but it might be hard without another book out there. I only know of promotional free book ones right now though, but perhaps someone else knows others or you could find some!
- You could think locally as well. Contact the local paper or some local book stores, a 15 year old getting published could get some news.
- My local bookstore allows any author to do signings for free if you sign up. You need physical books though to do such a thing.

Azaeli is being left behind by the Knights of His Majesty's Elite during the exciting blurb as Flit the Fairy looks on, unimpressed with humans thus far.

Also a lot of stuff from a video game called Tree of Savior in which one of the fighting styles of archers is called a CB Archer, but I have no idea why.
Also... sexy pictures of Miss Piggy... not sure why.
