I had to stop after 2 books in the first run as I wasn't finding a good thriller read.

#1 The Girl in Red by Christina Henry - 4/5
A pretty decent post-apocalyptic thriller retelling of red riding hood. Better than I expected.
#2 The Night Olivia Fellby Christina McDonald - 3/5
It was a good mystery story but a little too light for my taste. Though if you like mystery more than thrillers and don't mind a little sobbing then you might like it.
#3 The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James - 4/5
A good horror-thriller, though it was more like a ghost-thriller. The ending could have been better, but overall a good read.

#2 Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline narrated by Wil Wheaton
#3 The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab narrated by Julia Whelan
#4 The Girl in Red by Christina Henry narrated by January LaVoy
#5 The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald

I'll be reading The Sun Down Motel next! Can't wait to read it now after having read your comment!

#1 Sealed Off by Eileen Chang - 4/5
#2 The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn 4/5
#3 Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg - 4/5
All good reads :)

Anyway, I am counting my first book as The Woman In The Window by A.J. Fill as I just finished it.
RUN-1:
1. The Woman in the Window by A. J. Finn

Just in case, this one does sound good, although it is a horror novel: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... by Zilpha Keatley Snyder

Lol... Z is one of the most difficult alphabets to find for author names. Lol. I tried but found only 2 so far... Some other book would definitely be better for this ;)

For this challenge, you can start with reading ANY book by ANY author. It will be counted as your first book in a chain. Then your next book must be by an author whose first name begins with the same alphabet as the first alphabet in the last name of the author you just read.
For example: If your first book is by Agatha Christie, your next book's author must have a first name beginning with "C", such as Charles Dickens. Then for your next book, the author's name must begin with "D", like Dean Koontz and so on.
You try to continue this pattern for as long as you can. This one unbroken chain will be one RUN.
Important points:
1) It is allowed to repeat authors in the run because all authors have several books, make sure to have at least 2 or 3 books by other authors in between re-use of the same author's name.
2) If you feel stuck somewhere (say after about 5-6 books), you can simply end that Run and begin another Run with any book of your choice.
3) A Run should have at least 3 books long chain.
4) A Run can be as long as you want - no limit.
5) This challenge can be easily paired with other reading challenges!
Levels:
Level 1: Casual Reader: 1 Run (easy)
Level 2: Frequent Reader: 2-4 Runs (moderate)
Level 3: Bookworm: 5-8 Runs (mildly strenuous)
Level 4: Bibliophile: 8-12 Runs (strenuous)
Level 5: Bookiopath: 13+ Runs (challenging)
You can announce the level you'd be aiming for the year.
We understand that this is a new challenge and there are bound to be some confusion in the initial months, but that is okay. It is part of the fun, it is, after all, a challenge!
If you have any doubts or want to discuss anything with us, then simply drop a comment and one of the moderators will definitely get back to you regarding your query.
Please share your progress on this thread, just like we do on the other challenge threads.

Happy Reading!

Kathreen Center is a wonderful author. I've read only one book by her but it was really good and I've been meaning to read more by her. Lemme know if you read this one. I'd definitely want to know how it was.

Thanks for sharing this, Cheryl.

Hoover is essentially a really good (meaningful) romance author but this is her first venture into psychological thriller genre and being a fan pf PT I was thoroughly impressed! This books is a frame story of a kind and has a really good concept.

Welcome, Cheryl. I am sure everyone will definite enjoy it. I'm already looking forward to July!

For the month of July, we are going to have a new and exciting challenge this year - Game Month. For this challenge, we will have 4 separate challenges for each week of the month of July. And the challenges or games are as follows:
Week-1: Read a book of any genre with a number in the title. The number can either be written out (i.e. one) or just the numeral (i.e. 100) or it can be a cardinal number (i.e. 1st, 2nd or first, second, etc.)
Week-2: Read a book of any genre by an author whose initial (first name, last name, or both) is the same as yours. You don't have to give your real name to participate, just the initial you are choosing to match with the author. Also, you can match the author's first name initial with your last name initial, and vice versa.
Week-3: Read a book of any genre that's set in a place that you'd love to visit. You can pick either one location and read multiple books with that setting, or you can pick more than one location and read a single book set in each one. Imaginary or unbelievable places are also allowed (i.e. the moon or Narnia )
Week-4: Read a book of any genre with the main character you'd like to have as a friend. Let us know why you'd like that character as a friend (i.e. they'd be a lot of fun to be around; they'd be a faithful friend and never let you down).
Please note that these brilliant ideas were contributed by one of our amazing moderators - Cheryl.
