Stopped reading The Spear Cuts Through Water at 7%. It starts off in 2nd person, and there's nothing that pulled me in. No descriptions and no action. But even when the 'main' story started, in those first few 'pages' there still wasn't anything that grabbed me. There were still no real descriptions. Not enough details for my little brain. I hated to do it, but Will Not Finish.
In the Shadow Garden
is next on my list.
The Heretic Royal
was a big disappointment. I could only give it 2 stars... The other 2 books in the series got 4 and 5 stars. This one, while it moved quickly, nothing happened. I kept waiting and nothing.... Up next The Spear Cuts Through Water
Tinderbox
could have been a good story but the writing fell short. Wasn't descriptive enough to keep me intersted. 2 StarsUp next, The Heretic Royal
I joined in 2020, and so far I'm keeping up, but I do have a book on my shelf since April, but it doesn't come out until October. Reading them in their publication order seems to be working for me. (But there is a book I was just given, that comes out in December, that just might be read this weekend. (The first two books of the series were great!))
Tune in Tomorrow: The Curious, Calamitous, Cockamamie Story Of Starr Weatherby And The Greatest Mythic Reality Show Ever... Was a lot better than watching a reality TV show, or going to a bar to watch it live. But wasn't that great of a story.
2 Stars
Tinderbox by W.A. Simpson
is my next book
Wild is the Witch by Rachel Griffen
so slow of a story it's stuck on a snail's tail. 2 StarsNow going to try Tune in Tomorrow by Randee Dawn
(I am reading another book from Netgalley; The Desecrated by John Gray, but Goodreads has yet to add it. *I have sent in a request)
Finished this one a week or so ago. I had to force myself to finish it. Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noël
1 StarI was feeling guilty 'cause I've DNF a few from NetGalley already, but I wasted so much time reading it, and avoiding it. Worse yet, doing so sucked some of my excitement to read anything.
I have got to push those feelings aside. If I have to force myself, I need to give it up.
Now reading Wild is the Witch by Rachel Griffin

I really need to get a little more strict on the books I request and buy. (I cannot believe some of the books I have on my shelves. What was I thinking!)
Wake the Bones by Elizabeth Kilcoyne started off good but flopped. 2 StarsNow for
Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noël. (After reading the blurb, I'm wondering why I requested this one...)
Currently reading The Vagabond King
by Jodie Bond, a republish, so not an ARC, and so far not that great. The last book I read, Under the Whispering Door, that was on my TBR pile was only a 2 star. Disappointed in that one!
I hope NetGalley makes a workaround. My kindle will NOT download the app, and I don't like reading on my phone.
Courtney | Novel Maven wrote: "NetGalley currently uses the .mobi format so they will have to change that for their "Send to Kindle" function. Using the .epub format and uploading it to your Kindle manually will work if NetGalle..."Thank you. I hope NetGalley is on the ball!
Does anyone know if the kindle's changing of docs will give us issues with downloading/reading books?
Valkyrie's Daughter wasn't the greatest, slow. I had to force myself to read it. 2 stars.Taking an ARC break, only have one on my shelf at this time and it's not out until Oct., so I'm going to read
Under the Whispering Door. I've wanted to read this one for a while. Plus it will count for the Kindle challenge extras.
