Could you go to a bookstore near you that has the book in stock and read the last little bit of the book there?

I've had to do that before when I had an issue with an eBook where the last couple chapters of the book were just missing. So I went to Barnes & Noble and read the missing chapters.

One from earlier this year I missed the pub date on. A great mystery thriller that's the start of a new series.

You're definitely not alone. I have a bunch of older ones that got skipped for one reason or another that I still need to read.

28 books from prior to 2021, with the oldest being from 2018.

2018 - 1 book
2019 - 15 books
2020 -12 books

I'm slowly chipping away at them and hope to clear them all by the end of the year.

I have a Fire HD 6 and I didn't realize the Home screen would be different enough on the 7 to not have the docs app.

Hopefully Tudor Queen's advice works for you.

On the Fire they won't be in the library with your regular books. You need to open the docs app and they should all be listed there.
