Love me the eggnog! To heck with calories!

Well, just today I got the message from my library that this book was in. How convenient!

I haven't been on the board for a little while, since I wasn't able to get the month's books for discussion. And time things...
I should be back from time to time this month, but Happy Holidays to us all!

It seems not many people like eggnog any more. I LOVE it! Especially when it is spiked.

I have been away for several days as well, enjoying a nice break from work. I will try to be in for Eggnog, since I voted for that earlier. Let's see if I can find the book...

I was away from the internet most of the past week, but did finish the book. Mostly yay. It was short and sweet with a reasonably decent finish. I was partially right about Zak--he DID buy the old shelter for Zoe (though he wasn't the culprit!) Happy endings always help.

Not sure about the recipes. I assume they are at the end. Most of the time when our books have recipes, they ARE there, though!

I somehow have the feeling Zak is either the murderer or he is the one that bought the Animal Shelter Zoe worked in. How's that for confusion?
One good thing about a Kindle, they let you know exactly where you are in the book--I'm 67% of the way through. I should be done in the next few days.

I'm with you. This is indeed a quick and entertaining read.

I am into this next section as well. For some reason, Zak seems too good to be true. I'm always suspicious of that. Though there doesn't seem to be any motive. Perhaps he might end up having been secretly married to one of the family!

I actually took notes there were so many, so that I could get things straight for the intro for this discussion segment!

Eggnog and Caramel are both fine with me. I kind of like the idea of three different stories in the one.

There are sure a lot of suspects! And there are apparently a lot of Zoe Donovan mysteries as well.

Well, this is our side read for the month. I know there is one other on board and another waiting for the book, so I thought I'd start.
Zoe Donovan is the heroine here, a 24 year old woman living in what appears to be rural out west. She formerly owned a business with Jeremy Fisher being her assistant. Now they are out of a job and Jeremy has a pregnant ex-girlfriend and he needs money. He gets a job looking after "several hundred" turkeys bound for thanksgiving tables in the next few weeks. Zoe agrees to help out. It is a messy and smelly job.
It turns out that the owner of the farm is recently deceased, dying from a blow on the head which we find out was murder. There are no end of suspects. ANd I mean that, no end! There are children, their spouses, grandchildren, children of a mistress and a lot else. Fortunately, some of this is refreshed as Zoe approaches the number of suspects.
Some other characters are Ellie, Zoe's best friend, Gina the girl bearing Jeremy's child, Levi, a roue whom Ellie likes but not reciprocated at this point, Zak, Zoe's arch-enemy, though not really. He seems unusually perfect.
Well, that should get us started.

As soon as everyone is on board, I can offer to do the first section. It is not a very long book.

I am in for Trouble with Turkeys. It is not widely in libraries, but 99 cents on Kindle so I have it. About 25% of the way through so far.

I'm not sure I'm on board with Feast, since we have read it before. I wasn't sure until I read the synopsis on Amazon, where it referred to the code (something like "msrptzl"), which is what I remember.

I was surprised that my library system did not have Trouble with Turkeys, nor any of the author's books. It is available on Kindle for 99 cents, so I will do it that way.

Actually, on a little research, I think we read and discussed Fatal Feast before. I read some detail on Amazon and it certainly sounds familiar. Perhaps we could look at something else?

I must have missed most of this thread. I am OK with A Fatal Feast.
