I plan on reading Ghosts of Christmas Past, regardless. I am OK with Slays of Christmas as well; I hope I can fit in two books for the month.

I'm afraid I am falling behind. Things are VERY busy for me right now. I'll try to catch up!

I'm not terribly fond of watching TV things on the computer, but I might be willing to give Agatha a try. Let me know where you find it.

Nicole, I've read one or two in this series in the past. It was quite enjoyable, so I would be up to consider this book in the future.

I'm at about chapter 6 as well. Certainly the murder of Doug is progressing, along with the business about Tuck. And Finn, of course. I'm afraid the mystery of Tess's father will probably be a drawn out thing, though.

I don't know. I don't have the book, I just saw it at the library and remembered we read one of hers at Christmas a few years ago.

I mentioned this in the Thanksgiving discussion, Rhys Bowen, Ghost of Christmas Past. We've read her before and liked it!

I am just to the point where they find the body in the lake. I was happy there was a little bit about the background of the continuing story about Tess and her Dad. That helped me catch up with the previous episode.

The class I teach is called Environmental Health in the Home, based on my job with the university. I am thinking of proposing a class for the Spring session called The World of Agatha Christie!

The class I'm taking is through the university from which I recently retired. It is quite a robust program and is unlikely to go away, thank goodness! Literally hundreds of classes offered over a year, in all sorts of disciplines. I've taken several and am teaching one now, five weeks worth. I taught it last spring as well.

Got the book yesterday and started reading last night.

I see you, too!

I'll have to check this out. I'll try to be in for the discussion.

I doubt NicoleG will need that much editing!
In a completely unrelated note, I am taking a class currently called "Writing the Mystery Novel". Our goat at the end of the 5 week class is to have a thorough outline and the first chapter largely complete. I have a plot, which needs fleshing out, and am doing the descriptive and dialogue exercises we are getting as "homework".

Actually, I didn't like this at all. Outside of the errors, it is quite a cheat to introduce the killer when you are 75+% through the book. And make it so obvious.
I did get a little mix up in the Bailey and Maddie business as well.

The timeline is fine with me. Get better! (I should be done with the book soon.)

I can't say I'm enjoying this so far. I'm halfway through and will finish it. I hope it gets better.

Yes, I remember the to/too thing as well. There was at least one more, but I don't remember it.
I can't say I noticed the small, elongated steps thing. There really aren't that many men in the story just yet. In fact, not a whole lot of different characters at all!

Mostly through the first section. I am being distracted by the spelling errors, which are fairly frequent. "Desert" instead of "dessert"? Are fourth graders editing this?
Otherwise, I'm finding it OK.

I got the book and will start it today (probably).
