Kirra. The reason i claim that the Bible has no say over a legal term, becuase murder affects the laws put in place and the Bible is separate from the law. I dont think you read her source, because her source says that a baby is the same inside and outside of the womb, and that God wouldn't approve of abortion because it's destroying one of his creations. the separation of church and state means the church will not have sway over laws the government makes, so if the government decides that abortion is not murder, the Bible saying that a baby and fetus are the same thing doesn't affect the law whatsoever. Also the Bible never explicitly says abortion is wrong, just that God values all life, which could be taken as he values the mother's life just as much and therefore a law cannot be based on it. I am using the word very correctly according to the amendments, i phrased it like that because to be quite honest i had a feeling i would be repeating it and further explaining again anyway.
@Rita, i am NOT pro-abortion at all, i am pro-choice, thanky ou though.

this is where we go back and forth tho. Life starts at ..."
girl i already agreed with you on this point. also yesss ttyl!

In this source, two reasons are religious, which doesn't affect anything considering there is a separation of church and state. Two say according to science a fetus is a human which is true and has nothing to do witht he legal term, and the last point says that it would be murder if personhood is established to fetuses. which it is not.

Just bec..."
I said developed and functional, not FULLY developed. Fetuses brain is nowhere near a newborn's until the 24-32 week. Also you're like debating points that weren't even mentioned. fetuses are definitely alive and human.

I believe nonbiased sources that google provides. If you do not believe what google and my sources say, what backs up your claims? Here ar emore links to reputable websites explaining why it is not murder. I already posted two.

No i don't think killing an illegal human is okay, because born illegal humans have fully functional brains. Fetuses do not.

There is this thing called google. and if you use it, you will know that abortion by legal standards is not murder, becuase a fetus is not a legal human being. I am not saying this is right i am saying this is what the facts say. Once again.

Caroline, no it is not the same thing because a five year old is a legal person, and a fetus is not. A five year old has a developed and working brain, and a fetus is not.

Yes! And this is why i agree fetuses should be a legal human. But they are not. See the link i posted.

I agree. As i've stated before. Again, i think abortion should be illegal except in medical cases and rape, but the adoption system should be fixed up first. My point was that people claim its murder when whether its right or wrong, it's not and saying so is misinformed.

Cognitive development. fetuses do not have fully formed..."
Oh yeah. One step at a time, right? I feel like the government could focus on and fund both a law, the upkeep of the law, and fixing adoption centers at the same time. Maybe if we just closed our borders and reassigned ice and stopped wasting millions of dollars on torturing people, we could save actual childrens' lives. (sorry got a bit political there)

I expect you to own up to the fact you were incorrect and say that it is the unfair killing of a fetus instead, yes, because otherwise it is spreading misinformation.

mur·der

noun
verb
murder (noun)
murders (plural noun)
the unlawful premeditated killing of one person by another:
person typically refers to someone with rights. I'll post a link too, but even if the definition is still human abortion is not murder just because the law says otehrwise andmurder is a legal term,

Cognitive development. fetuses do not have fully formed brains and cannot think until around 24-30 weeks.
also so yall understand, i think abortion should be illegal with exceptions in a perfect government. My points here are strictly going to be based off scientific and legal fact,

some people are just lazy... I'm totally not one..."
i'm pretty sure after all our debate time in the debate club you know every single one of my points anyway lmao 😭

the unlawful killing of a legal person. Its not based on whether it's legal its based on the fact that fetuses are not legal humans. We agree that they should be, however currently they are not.

To the people who claim abortion is murder, abortion is killing a future baby yes, but fetuses are not legal human until they are born, and considering murder is a legal term used only to refer to legal humans, abortion is not murder.
