You need to have it listed on another major retailer like Barnes & Noble as free and then Amazon will price-match it.
Yes and no. If you search on Amazon for a keyword and use the "Filter Results" to sort by "Relevance" you'll be able to tell by the results.Using your keyword, Picaresque, you'll note that the first book has the keyword in the title so they didn't have to list it as one of their keywords. But the next book doesn't have that keyword anywhere, so you can assume it has listed it as one of their seven keywords.
Hope this helps!
I've used Google ads for traffic to my website, JimsGotWeb.com with great results, but I haven't used it for my book on Amazon.I'd be interested to hear from anyone that has tried it.
Hi Jennifer, no you haven't broken any rules. I've just returned from an extended vacation and have been away from my computer for a while. But, now I'm back!I've looked at the keyword "angels" on Amazon and there are 27,000 books you're competing with so it will be hard to reach a ranking with it. I'd suggest concentrating on getting more reviews as that will help with the "Relevance" search.
What other keywords are you using? Have you researched them on Google?
I've notified Amazon of your free books, good luck! For those of you that would also like to help, it really just takes seconds to do it. Here's how:
1. Click on the B&N link and then copy the address (control C or right-click with mouse)
2. Click on the Amazon link and scroll to the "lower price" link in the Product Details box, "Would you like to give feedback on images or tell us about a lower price?"
3. A box will pop-up, choose the "Website" option and Paste the B&N address (Control V or right-click with mouse) and 0.00 as the price, hit submit and you're done!
