Happy Friday everyone! No big plans here. Jerrick and the boys put a new window unit in my mom's sunroom today. She was pretty excited about that. Fun, huh!? LOL

On ch 18, so far, it's just a moving right along type of story. I'm not super pumped about it but it's holding my attention well enough. I'm interested to see what Brynla's special thing is.

I almost forgot this was a buddy read. I started last night. So far so good.

@Jill, there is a part in chapter 1 or 2 (I can't remember for sure but you will for sure know what I mean) that might give you pause, but just remember it turns out fine. At least it has so far. I'm on chapter 7 in the audiobook. If something changes or makes me think you should skip this one I'll let you know. But I think you'll be good.

Btw- the narrator is saying syndi-cat instead of syndicate and it's driving me NUTS!

I just finished and yeah... not my favorite anymore. Joe was an ass! (view spoiler)[I really can't believe I ever loved him so much with as many times as he threatened different women and called them bitch. And random, but what was up with Benny comparing his booty call girl to Vi??? ICK! That's your cousin's lady! But he's in love with his dead brother's wife, so... anyway. Overall, I just really didn't love this story like I did before. The characters are again immature and all they think about is sex. I may be becoming a prude!!! Joe did definitely get better. His story really is so sad that I do still have a lot of compassion. The last bit of the story was good and how it all wrapped up. The scales thing annoyed me. (hide spoiler)] Joe's relationship with the girls was sweet and helped to save him. I'm scared to reread the rest of this series. I already know I didn't like the next book the first go around. I can't stand Layne! And yes, I finally remembered Mike's book- It does has something to do with the farmhouse. I loved that one according to my review and gave it 5 stars. Idk if I want to reread it and tarnish the memories.

Starting ch 11- Joes is seriously a d**k!!! His story is tragic but seriously! I'm questioning my rating scale at this point. Not really, this was all new to me at the time. (view spoiler)[She really should have dumped his mercurial ass and gotten with Mike. But I can't remember, does Mike get a book? He deserves a good woman. Come to think of it, not Vi because she is acting like a hoe- not really, I'm just irritated with her right now. By the end, I'll feel different. I hope. (hide spoiler)]

In ch 8 in the audiobook- Joe really is an ass. And Violet keeos ketting him play her. Poor Mike... I'm afraid I'm changung my mind about this being one of my favs. Which actually makes me sad. But I'll see what I think at the end.

I finished. I'm enjoying this series.

Thanks, Judy. It was a nice chill day for me. There was a celebration in the city park with music and food vendors and stuff, then fireworks when it got dark. I didn’t stay for the fireworks. I didn’t stay long at all become I was hot lol. But it was a nice gathering.
