Yeah, I almost dnf'ed it but I thought there would be a payoff period of happiness. I agree that it was darkish too. Plus (view spoiler)

I did like the author’s writing style though. It was totally different, but reminded me of Divine Rivals.

How's everyone doing today?
Was it a good day or a bad day?"

It's been a busy week for me. Our purchasing department is closing out the fiscal year so everyone wants to spend their budget dust. So lots of orders for me to get in. Tomorrow is the last day and it's my Friday!

125752 Okay, I finished. Fabi, I can see why this one maybe wasn't for you if you don't like time jumps.
The time jumps didn't bother me but I do think this was a really somber/sad/depressing story. But! I was intrigued. I'm not sure if I was satisfied with the ending or not. I did like the climax/resolution though. 3+ stars for me.

I am good where I am. I'm in East TX. The flooding happen in Central TX. Kind of near Austin. My nephew was there for the 4th, but hes was safe. I think Jess lives near there. But I think she's fine. I've seen her on IG.

Lol, actually my MIL did make potato salad and peach cobbler- which was. Delish. And I made mini cheesecakes.

Texas girls, I hope you are all ok. I saw there were some nasty storms rolling through last night."

It has been raining on and off all day. It's keeping the temperature bearable. Still hot though.

125752 I have completely been taken over by the streets. I have listened to these three and now I've started the the 1st book of the spin off- Capone (Season One Delgato Family #1) by Jahquel J. Capone II (Season one Delgato Family, #2) by Jahquel J. Capone III (Season one Delgato Family Book 3) by Jahquel J.
Cappadonna (Season two Delgato Family Cappadonna) by Jahquel J.
This is very much Urban romance.

For you I pick Hot for Teacher (Richardson Sibling Trilogy, #1) by Monique Fisher. With that title how can I not pick it!"

Thanks, Laura! Yeah, it's an intriguing title.
125752 I finished. I think it was okay. I stayed engaged, but it was too long in my opinion, but also I figured it out pretty early on. I'll save my other thought s for when more of you start reading.

125752 Hi Laura! I am going to pick His Unlikely Lover (Unwanted, #3) by Natasha Anders for you. I read a few of this author's work a while back and enjoyed them. Fingers crossed!
125752 I started this morning. I'm interested for sure. It is reminding me of The Push by Ashley Audrain for some reason. They aren't the same at all though, so I can't really say why.
