She smiles, but it doesn't reach her eyes. "I'm sure it's nothing." She opens the door.
"There's nothing to be afraid of, maybe she came back early," Maiara reaches for the door.
Ms. Simmons has reached the door now, and she pounds on it.
She turned to her sister. "You're seeing this, right?"
It was their neighbor, Ms. Simmons, strolling without a care in the world, as if she didn't leave for Florida the day before.
She shook her head, amused. That's when she noticed someone walking up the driveway.
(Let's see ... We're back home, and Jaylynn is hiding from her studies) "There's nowhere to run!" She hollered up the stairs.
