She wore the same expression. "Try to ride it!"

She held her breath, hands tightening around the branch.

"Relax," Maiara crept in front of her. "Do the thing—like we're taught."

"Is it awake?" She mouthed.

"Of course." She steps into the clearing, branch raised.

She glances around before shaking her head. "I'll cover you.

She stared, eyes wide. "Well, there you are, Jay. What now?"

She peeks over at the light and drops back down. "I don't see anything. Is it invisible?"

She grabs your arm. "What is it?"

"I don't know, but we won't get anywhere sitting here."

She shrugged. "Maybe a Fireworm ... Or something else."

"Do you think it wants us to go find it?"

"Let's wait, it can't stay there forever."

She grabs a branch off a tree. "I can manage. But where is it?"

Her eyes widen. "I left my bow in the village!" She whispers.

She pulls her into a bush. "Stay quiet and we'll stay alive." She hisses, scanning the skies.

A cry pierces the air. Maiara freezes.

"All dragons are dangerous." She frowned. "Yours literally teleports through fire."

She smiled. "For sure. I hope there's a Changewing."
