He smiles a little. "It's a beautiful night you see, I wanted to take a photo of the Leonids ((annual meteor showers)), but I, um, came across you and your friend there, and thought it best to leave ..." He gestures vaguely to Annais. "I truly am sorry ... I would've helped, but my magic is just starting out."

(not yet, they're just meeting, but he knows about the attack, he's about to explain.)

He involuntarily hung back, then seemed to remember himself. "Hello," he greeted meekly.

A boy limped into the Wing, his clothes covered in dirt and leaves, the blue of his Ravenclaw crest faded under the muck. He cast a wide-eyed glance at Annais and hastily looked away, settling on a far bed.

So, Annais likes Lana, Annais saves Lana, and she mistakes her for Sirius, bringing him into the mix, where they then begin to compete over Lana? Does that work for you both?

Hmm ... Either Sirius and Annais compete for Lana's affections, or he could just be a friend.
