Neo chuckled, clasping his hands and leaning forward. "Precisely. Not in the way you think though." He shrugged, a sly smile pulling his lips across his cheeks. He remained silent, keeping a cold, hard gaze, boring into Caden's eyes. He cocked his head to one side, spinning one of the rings on his finger.

"Unlike most beings here-" He paused, keeping his gaze harsh. "-I was not born to be the way I am now."

Neo laughed coldly, a glint of danger in his eye. "Untouchable? What's the fun in that? I like being on the brink of danger, a hair's breadth away from being swept into the fray, tossed and turned by the current. But no, I prefer to watch, to feel the tingle of the battle from a distance, to analyze, to react. That's my drive. Seeing others mistakes in battle and cataloging them, preparing for when I'll see them next."

He drummed his fingers on the counter again, leaning back in his chair, one leg crossed over another, a smug smile on his face.

"As for seeing some shit, well..." He chuckled, cocking his head to one side. "It's hard to see the shit that shapes you when you're made of the shit yourself, hm?"

Neo chuckled, ceasing his tapping. "I think you're the one who doesn't see the full picture." He uncrossed his legs, sensing the tension, matching Caden's gaze. "The sidelines are where the unexpected go. Where you can watch with full intent without anyone batting an eye. Its where you can watch the movements best without getting caught in the fray." Neo smiled darkly, his tongue flitting out from behind his teeth.

He shrugged, setting his drink back down with a sigh. "Somewhat." He said blankly, watching him closely again. He narrowed his eyes, watching his every move. "For your information, I quite enjoy watching from the sidelines." He tapped his fingers against the counter again, this time without pattern, his gaze falling on Caden's fingers.

Neo chuckled to himself, flipping some hair out of his face. "Not a narrow view persay, more of a broad scope of the whole city." He shrugged, watching the other boy closely, how he tapped his mug, how his eyes sharpened, how he moved his mouth when he wasn't talking. He scoffed quietly, shaking his head and looking away to take another sip of his drink, glancing back at him from the side of his eye.

Neo chuckled, setting his drink down on the counter, leaning back in his seat, clasping his hands over his crossed legs. "Issue? I think the real issue is I've never seen you before." His expression darkened slightly, his smirk fading into a scowl. "And I've seen everything around here." He stared the other boy down once more, his eye twitching quickly from his strained gaze.

The kids waved goodbye as I walked toward the door, urging her to do the same.

I smiled, laughing a bit. "Yeah... unfortunately-"

I sat myself on the couch, criss cross applesauce

I picked up a small bag of Earl Grey tea "Thanks!"

I shrugged, leaning back on the counter. "Earl Grey. A bit cliche, but a good one"

I smiled, nodding! "Of course! What kind of tea do you like?"
