((You're implying that this character's childhood has no relation with why they are taking on a new identity, so why include it unless it's super relevant?))

Anyway, I had assumed you meant for this group.))

For a handshake to seal the deal.))

"Very good!" Bruce nodded and held out a hand to Eve. "I guess it's time for a tour, then. I have a few people I'm excited for you to meet. I'm sure you'll find yourself working alongside Mr. Fox quite a bit. "

He smiled and stood, buttoning his midnight blue suit jacket and straightening his tie. "Well, I suppose the only question I have at present is in regards to your salary. How does $170 an hour sound?"
((I looked up hourly paid intern salaries for high end tech companies and this is just a bit higher than the highest they had listed.))

"She's afraid of heights."Bruce said simply. "Hence why she stopped at the doorway."
He gestured vaguely to all the windows. "It's not debilitating, obviously, and she's made great strides toward overcoming it. She mentioned that you made a joke that indicated you had noticed and it put her at ease. I'll count that as a pass. As for the comment about your friends, she was likely caught off guard and unsure how to segue back to the matter at hand without seeming insincere. Her question was indeed meant to put you on your toes a bit, but there was an odd juxtaposition between business and emotion that you both ran up against. And yes, of course there was a bit of showmanship involved. You'll have to forgive me, I find formal interviews so tedious. They're just so rehearsed. I read your online application beforehand. I ran the proper background checks. We collected your resume for our records. I wanted to conduct the interview without you knowing it was an interview, if that makes sense."

Bruce turned and gave Eve his signature smirk.
"Good morning, Ms. Spellman. Please make yourself comfortable."He glanced at one of the monitors as he spoke, but didn't turn his head and he returned to meet Eve's eyes again.
"Melissa just sent her assessment of your interview. She says you have a high regard for my family's company and our beautiful city. She got the impression you had a good memory and a high insight. So, tell me: what can you tell me about her. Melissa, I mean?"

"We're looking into electric transportation, but as of yet, the cost of converting our manufacturing plants is astronomically high, and mandating the limitation of their output to a relatively new technology fairly impractical. Not to mention the environmental and financial logistics surrounding the proper disposal of Lithium-ion batteries once they have served their purpose." She answered. "We've decided to look into more sustainable, clean energy projects."
Over the course of the rest of the elevator ride, the secretary posed two or three more such questions before the door opened. "Right, well, I'll be sure to let Mr. Wayne know you're ready to negotiate wages and then he'll have the honors of giving you the grand tour!" She said as she stepped off without hesitation. "I'll get someone to etch a nameplate for you and you can pick it up at the reception desk when you leave today. Oh, and by the way, feel free to wear flats if you'd be more comfortable." The secretary used the tip of her pen to point at Eve's heels before turning to walk away toward an intercom unit in the wall. Pressing the button, she said, "Mr. Wayne, a Ms. Eve Spellman is here to see you."
Without waiting for a reply, she opened a door into a huge office that took up three quarters of the floor's available space. Tinted floor to ceiling windows looked out over Gotham on three sides with roll down shades in case of strong sunlight. In the center of the room was a large curved desk with a Newton's cradle, a few neat stacks of paper, a classic green banker's lamp, a pair of computer monitors with a keyboard and mouse, and a landline telephone. There was a round rug underneath and a pair of armchairs in front. Sitting in what appeared to be swiveling leather arm chair behind the desk, back to the door and staring out the window, was a man with wide shoulders and black hair.

"I'm sorry to hear about your friends, by the way." She added somewhat awkwardly.
"If there were any projects you could suggest Wayne Enterprises look into, what would they be?"

"Of the many technological advancement and research projects currently under development at Wayne Enterprises, which are you most interested or excited about?"

Feeling a little lacking creatively and this is scratching an itch and getting the juices flowing as it were, despite being an obvious waste of time. I'm open to feedback, constructive criticism, and ideas.
