I walked out of the med jack's tent and started drinking water. I caught a glance of Gears across with Minho and nearly choked on my water. "Huh." I shrugged.

I sighed, contemplating if I should follow her as Rhys kissed my forehead. I wrapped my arm around his waist and he flinched. "What happened?" I asked. He just shrugged. "Gally, of course."

"What?" I turned to her and then Rhys, frowning. "Rhys-" he sighed. "Alright, I'm sorry, he's waiting somewhere you two know in the trees."

I turned away, plucking at invisible hairs on the bed. I heard him sigh and I imagined him running his hands through his hair.
"I'm really sorr-" He muttered before I raised my hand. "Don't be. I understand."
He came over, looking like he were about to hesitate if he should hug me. I walked over, and being a tiny human, my head rested against his chest.

I squeaked in protest. I sounded like a little baby. "Rhys-" I was still so upset with him for keeping a secret, but he had a reason to, he and Gears were right. I would explode seeing any injury on Gears and then get selfish.
God, I hate myself.

((ugh since I made Rhys, I really don't know how to write about boys- literally make him seem like a dumb idiot))

I breathed deeply and wiped my eyes. Suddenly, the door opened and Rhys came barging in. "Time's up, my turn." I turned my head away.

I started to laugh and then cry and then sob and then laugh. Repeat. I think I was starting to go insane. I hugged her back, laughing and sobbing into her shoulder. "See-?" I hiccupped. "This is why- why I told ever-everyone el-se to l-leave."

I sat down, but my heart was breaking. I could tell she wasn't just going to give in so easily.
I stood despite what she just said and hugged her. I expected her to pull away or flinch, so I pulled away first.

If she were going to stand then I'll stand. I stood but then my knees buckled and I groaned irritably. "I'm sorry. I- I hate myself for never noticing. I'm sorry for being a slinthead in every single darn conversation and acting like the momma of this whole Glade and I'm sorry for running with Rhys and not caring that you were basically broken physically and I ignored everythi-" I stopped and took a deep breath when I realized I was blabbering. "I'm so damn sorry, Gears." I nearly cried. "I'm sorry for absolutely everything."

My eyes softened and I patted the seat next to me. "Sit down." I said slowly.

I sat up, ignoring the throbbing in my head and a tingly sensation in my neck and I firmly told Rhys and everyone else to get the hell out of here.

I hated how emotional I could easily get but I glared back at her with tears down my cheeks. "You stay and the others go."
Rhys crossed his arms again. I still loved him and I would talk to him later but all I wanted was Gears.

I shoved at Rhys with all my force which annoyingly only make him grunt. I started to cry again, remembering everything.
I turned to Rhys bitterly. "Leave, I want to talk to Gears alone." My voice was emotionless.

Nightmares. I was stuck in the Maze alone. Considering that I wasn't a runner, this terrified me. I had no idea how I was asleep. All I remember was laughing with Rhys in the bonfire. "Guys?" I asked slowly. "Gears? Rhys- Alby?" I heard a clicking noise and I turned. It was another person. I breathed a sigh of relief until I screamed. It was running towards me in a weird manner and it jumped on me.
I rolled with it across the ground and it bit my neck- Once it's teeth came in contact with my neck, I awoke.

I couldn't take it anymore. My veins felt bulgingly weird, my face felt cold, everyone was shocked as hell. And I felt like a slinthead.

I took one step back, speechless and my gut wrenching. Gear's furious face with the reflection of the bonfire was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.
