We all ran for our lives but right as we made one turn, there was another Griever. It was clicking but it wasn't running. It was slowly crawling towards in a mesmerizing way...We all turned around until Thomas screamed at us; 'this way, this way!'
My ankles were sore and so were everyone else's but we were determined to make it out. Out this hell-hole.
we found ourselves in a long narrow walk. I was panting heavily and gripping Chuck's hand. "What-" I yelped as I heard a loud clatter. "EVERYONE STAND STRAIGHT DON'T TOUCH THE SIDES, YOU CAN FALL." Minho yelled, still clutching Gears.
I nodded to Chuck and we kept walking, thinking we had outrun the Grievers....
"Rhys," I said firmly. "Let go." He grunted and counted down and then still, running, I nearly stumbled when he let go of me. My knees buckled, but I regained my composure and grabbed Chuck's hand. "GO GO GO!"
"Oh no-" Rhys breathed and I craned my neck to see where he was looking. Before I even saw it, I heard it. It was 2 Grievers, coming our way. I screamed at Chuck to hurry up, but I felt so useless, on Rhys's shoulder.
We can hear someone screaming- probably Gally and Rhys literally half-carries me. I protest. "I can run!"
"You're going too slow." He says firmly as he throws me over his shoulder. I grunt and Thomas guides the way.
Minho easily sweeps Gears in his arms. He looks like the only one who could carry her and run."Let's go- and fast."
"Gears- you stupid and brave shuckface." I hiss, wrapping my arm around her neck as Rhys got off me. We were in the corner now and Minho was practically crawling towards us. In the tall grasses, I whispered to everyone. "We need to leave."
3 Grievers suddenly came crawling out of the Maze and everyone started screaming. Rhys jumped on top of me and we went rolling towards the Wall, near the door. "Stay down." He hissed, covering me with his body. I looked around frantically, hating what I was seeing.
