Hey ya’ll! I’m not sure if any of you follow Brandon Sanderson on social media, but he recently posted something about the Knights Radiant order quiz on his website. I took it recently and ended up with Willshaper, which I thought was super interesting!

I just finished rereading WoK! It was even better than I remembered it being (even though I think this was like my 4th read through at least LOL).

I still cried at all the sad parts and felt so much emotion!

Seeing Shallan, Kaladin, and Dalinar develop throughout the book was so amazing, but knowing how their lives will be impacted in later books left me even more worried for them.

It’s crazy how even on my 4th read through I can still think, “maybe this time will be different!” When getting to a sad part of the story.

I decided to read all the interludes as well and I forgot how much I enjoy those little side stories! Specifically, I liked the interlude with the PureLake, and I don’t think I caught it before that those “outsiders” were looking for our old friend 😉.

Whoooaaa Dalinar becoming odiums general in the Cosmere war is something I haven’t thought of but can totally see being a possibility… I can’t underestimate Sanderson by thinking he’ll have one obviously good side and one obviously bad… I’m sure there’ll be characters we love on both sides of this war! Brandon is definitely not gonna make it easy on us…

I definitely agree that Odium’s champion will probably be some character that we currently love and that is on our side as of now!

I was thinking, does the clause that Odium cannot harm anyone from Taravangian’s kingdom still stand now that he himself is Odium? Is that how works, or have I misunderstood? If I were Dalinar, I would appoint Taravangian’s granddaughter as the Champion, because, even with his new found power, I can’t see him harming her in any way. (I could be wrong, or forgetting something important though)

I was wondering if anyone has any theories about Stormlight 5? I’m rereading the entirety of SA currently, so I’m sure I’ll develop more as I go, especially reading the secret projects.

I’m most interested in seeing Kal’s development and also discovering who the “champion” will be, I have some theories but am interested in seeing what you guys think!

Also, I totally agree that after stormlight 5 we will see a MAJOR time jump (similar to Mistborn era #1 to #2 IMO)

Peter, I totally agree!! I absolutely loved this story because it gives us a glimpse into SA, that we haven’t seen in what feels like forever! I definitely wonder if the only reason I liked it so much is because of my prior knowledge of these characters and the Cosmere.


MAJOR SUNLIT MAN AND SA SPOILERS;


Despite that though, this was definitely my favourite secret project (Order goes; Sunlit Man, Tress, Yumi for me). Seeing Nomad/Zellion/Sigzil’s (lol) struggles with himself and his identity reminds me so much of Kaladin and his similar battle between his past and current self, and learning to accept and love the man he is and not blame himself so much for mistakes. I’m currently rereading the Way of Kings right now so these parallels stuck out to me even more!

I really want to hear more about how Sigzil came to Harbor the Dawnshard and how he ended up breaking his oaths… the true and final death of Auxillary was so sad but super inspiring, I can’t wait to see what is in store for stormlight 5!

Im on page 18 of Sunlit man! I’m loving the stormlight archive connections!!
I’ve discovered who he is already haha, the scholar to soldier pathway he mentioned gave it away…

MAJOR SUNLIT AND STORMLIGHT SPOILER:

I can’t beleive how much Sigzil has changed if it is him (I’m hoping I’m right here hahaha, I still don’t know for sure!)! Excited to see more about his character growth and learn how he ended up breaking his oaths, safe to say I was shocked to hear about that!

I finished Yumi last night and also loved it! I liked that Hoid was still narrating but played a lesser role in the story, more of an observer than actual character. I also liked the more serious themes as I think it provides a great counterpart to Tress, it was awesome to read them back to back. Excited to start Sunlit man since I know it is connected most with the Stormlight Archive (my favourite series)

I’m glad you are enjoying it! The trilogy definitely seems to get darker and more violent as it goes on in some ways, in my opinion. Have fun!

Just finished Tress!! WOW truly amazing…

Minor spoilers:

I guess in someway I was right that Tress outgrew Charlie! I just wasn’t expecting him to have grown right along with her!

The word play from Hoid throughout the book was so so so fun, I have never read anything quite like this… It felt intimate almost, idk how to describe it.

All the themes about discovering ones self worth, and place in the world, aghhh I just have no words. I will definitely be coming back to reread this book many many times.

Did anyone figure out the big twist at the end before it was revealed?? I think I had it figured out like one page before they revealed it, so I was very surprised HA!

Most people recommend going back to stormlight after era #1, but it’s definitely a personal preference. Era #2 has different characters and is set wayyyy in the future so it’s a whole different style than era #1. IMO it has a cowboy/westerny type feel which I loved! If you are worried about forgetting stormlight details I’d definitely recommend heading to the 17th shard or the copper mind and just reading brief synopsis now and then.

Tress spoilers!!
Okay so I’m further along in Tress and it’s still just as good as when I started!! I just caught another Easter egg (well it’s not really hidden at all…) that I’ll talk about below.
Cosmere spoiler
So Ulaam is a Kandra??? I mean it’s pretty obvious but if anyone can confirm that would be great.
Also the way that Tress is changing with all of her experiences is so cool but also kind of sad! Where did my timid, overly polite, shy girl go! Now there’s just this badass woman sticking up for herself and her friends! Go girl!

Some of my thoughts about the rest of the book:

I hope this isn’t the case but some part of me feels like these changes might impact her relationship with Charlie… with how much she has evolved, I feel like she might have outgrown him in a way? Will she be happy returning back to their little island and living how she used to? I guess I’ll find out!

Brandon Sanderson endings are always breathtaking, those last 100 pages of any of his books are always fast-paced, action packed, and absolutely jaw dropping.

The story keeps getting crazier from here!! I also remember being so surprised when Kelsier died in book one! As Marwan said, the character development gets even better in the later books…. Enjoy book two!!

Definitely be on the lookout for Hoid in any cosmere novel, you’ll start noticing him all over if you look closely! (Hint he may go by different names but he has a pretty distinctive character/dialogue)

Elend is one of my favourite characters as well, his growth through the series is probably only rivalled by Vin herself. What are your thoughts about the setting so far? Both the city and world as a whole?

Omg I cannot wait!!! I second he needs to live at least until he concludes all these series!!

I’ve heard rumors that it might be set in like just pre computer world but I could be wrong!! I absolutely love this switch too, it’s something no other fantasy author has ever done, as far as I’m aware

Could not agree more!!! The Ghostblood reveal was crazy!! I’m actually very surprised Marasi didn’t end up joining them.

But yea Steris is so underrated, I loved her character development and her and Wax’s somewhat unexpected romance, they make a great team.

I’m so excited to see how era #3 plays out and how Sanderson handles the next time jump/evolution
