Oh man that’s a tough one!! Each character has such unique features and an inspiring backstory, I think my favourite character changes each time I reread. Most recently Navani has really resonated with me, especially through her struggles with imposter syndrome and drive to understand and handle everything herself. I also love Kaladin and Adolin with all my heart… and Lyft… and Shallan…. Ugh I definitely can’t pick!!!

That’s the best feeling! Since I’ve been mostly rereading or borrowing, I miss that new book feel!

Oh yeahhh that’s right! I was thinking of Khriss, so I was definitely wrong…

I actually don’t think its either, I think it’s supposed to be the same person who is “writing” the arcanum thing at the end of the cosmere books, like where they explain the magic systems and stuff. It’s some cosmere scholar, I can’t remember her name right now but she is a world hopper. Can anyone confirm this? I could also be totally wrong LOL

The youtube videos were so awesome! Was it Kate Reading who did them?

Just finished my reread of Elantris! Enjoyed it wayyy more than I remembered, went into a bit more detail in my review.
On another note, I’m thinking I’ve been in a bit of a Sanderson rut lately and was wondering if any of y’all had any non-Sanderson fantasy recommendations!
I think I always return to Sanderson books because I know I’ll enjoy them but I’ll be a bit more confident diving into a big ole non-Sanderson fantasy book if I know readers that share my interests also enjoyed the book!

I would agree about there being more to Dalinar I have a very strong feeling he will loose and end up being odiums puppet in the intergalactic war 👀👀 (era#2 Mistborn spoilers)… I could be wrong with the timeline thing but Wax v Dalinar in the future??? I could be totally wrong with timeline and other stuff but that would be insanneee

One of the Cosmere content creators I follow on instagram asked an interesting question on one of their posts… it includes Oathbringer Spoilers kind of so be warned…
The question is, who is/was worse? Dalinar or Taravangian?
I have some very pointed thoughts on this topic and am super interested to hear what you all think. There’s a pretty solid discussion happening in the comments of the creators post so hopefully we spark some good dialogue!

Oohhhh I had not thought about it possibly being Adolin or Gavinor! Taravangian is up to something, so it’s definitely going to be a huge twist…. I feel like Adolin is too pure to get corrupted, but you truly never know. Gavinor would be absolutely crazy, I could actually see that… it was originally going to be Moash right?

100% agree, she gets so much unwarranted hate. She’s so young and has been through so much! She deserves to make mistakes and be a little awkward and annoying at times…

MAJOR RoW Spoilers
OMG OMG OMG, just got to the part where Veil confronts Shallan and returns all her memories!!! I had totally forgotten about the true purpose of Veil and what she represented, this scene had me bawling like a baby all over again.
Shallan is so strong and has been through so much, this growth is HUGE and I can’t wait to see how she progresses in future books… I am officially in the midst of the Sanderlanch for this book and can barely put it down to get my uni work done!

I hope he writes an elantris sequel at some point too! It’s nice that we get something more from that world through the short stories and Easter eggs in other books, but it would be nice to have another book. Elantris wasn’t my favourite of Brandon’s books the first time I read it, but it’s coming up in my reread list soon so I’m excited to dive back in and see what I think of it so many years later!
The hope of Elantris was very heart warming, and I LOVED the Emperors Soul, I’d have loved that story to have been extended upon more, such an interesting premise with such a cool magic system.
Many of the other short stories can be read wherever in your cosmere journey! I’d highly recommend the Sixth of Dusk and White Sand

Hey y’all! I recently finished my second read through of arcanum unbounded and was interested to see who else has read it and what your thoughts are. If you have, do you have a favourite short story/world from it or one in which you hope to see more from in future books? One of my favourites was Sixth of the Dusk!

I 100% agree, I feel like I overlooked this book in my first read through for some reason, the nuances of Kaladins character struggling with his mental health and how that effects him is so amazing because I feel like in a lot of books there are characters who struggle with mental health but they have like one moment of revelation where they are basically “cured” and are completely fine from there. Sanderson instead sticks close to the truth and explains how even in good times Kaladin can still be affected and he has so many layers that make him feel so real and relatable. But yes all those other scenes you mentioned are just so amazing. I also feel like Venlis character development is often overlooked and I’m glad she gets so much screen time in RoW. With the backstories you almost start to hate her but then you learn more about her motivations and her own struggles and you start to understand where she came from… anyway little rant, just love this book and the recent secret project drop has my mind FULL of Sanderson and I needed to let it out LOL

Minor RoW spoilers:
I am currently completing my reread of Rhythm of War and something caught my eye that I hadn’t really put much thought into before. The scene where Jasnah is on the front lines and fighting and engaging in war for the first time is sosososos good. I get caught up in how amazing Sanderson fight scenes are with like Kaladin in the sky, Adolin’s insane duelling skills, and Dalinars battlefield presence, but this scene of Jasnah “fighting like a butcher” is so raw, so intense, so…. I don’t even know. I really moved me this time around for some reason… seeing her feelings about the fighting, the shock afterwards, how it differed from what she had read, and her drive to prove herself to her people, it was written so insanely well and really made me feel like I was there.
What are some of your favourite moments from RoW? I feel like this book is often overlooked just because of how amazing Words of Radiance and Oathbringer were, I’m interested to hear people’s thoughts on RoW.

GUYS! Sanderson just released the sneak peak of his new secret project and my jaw has literally DROPPED with the amount of lore and cosmere spoilers in this…. Like literally mind blown…. I have no words… please tell me someone has read the released chapters and can attest to this!!

So crazy… when you read arcanum unbounded the post script messages give so much fun little insight into his thought process! It’s insane how early he had been thinking about this universe and piecing it together

Definitely agree on this, Elantris just cannot compare unfortunately. I read it once super long ago and have been holding off on the reread. I’ll get to it eventually though! I’m thinking I’ll be more into it now that I know so much about the cosmere and can catch some of the og Easter eggs though!
But yes, stormlight is amazing!! You will love it and it’s always so fun having someone to talk to about it, lots of heavy themes that stir conversation.

GUYS!! Has anyone watched Brandons most recent YouTube video… if you haven’t stop reading this post right now and go watch it!!!!
—dont read the rest until you watch the video!!!—
This is MASSIVE news, to be honest I 100% thought we were only getting SA 5 this year and no really big news for any other books would be dropped, let alone another SECRET PROJECT. Jaw absolutely on the floor…. He can’t keep doing this to us, it can’t be good for my heart…
I heard the news right after I finished my reread of oathbringer, so truly my emotions are all over the place… Can’t wait to hear more about this secret project and listen to the reading of the first chapter!!!!
Let me know your thoughts on this!

Kennedy, we are very similar then! Windrunner was my second and Lightweaver my third!
