Noah wasn't very hungry himself, at least not yet. Most of the food he'd brought was for her. Since he didn't know very well what food she liked. His sister had avised him to get varied kinds in that case. Also, another fact he wouldn't tell Nicole. "I'm glad. You know, it's been a long time since I last came around here just to relax and enjoy the place." He said truthfully.
(Sorry for not having replied sooner! Please forgive me I'll be replying tomorrow, and sorry again :/)
"Yep, I can. It's really no trouble." Noah shook his head, and grabbed for the bag, putting it within her reach. "Of course, it's for you, and me. You don't need to ask." He chuckled and opened the bag for her to choose what she wanted to eat.
He instanly jumped at her statement. "Really? I can teach you. If you want, of course." Contrary to what others might think, he did enjoy teaching people how to play instruments. Sharing music isn't only about performing for others, but allowing them to do their own music too. His mom always used to say that. "It's easy, don't worry."
Noah sat down next to her and smiled at her answer, deciding right then no guy out there was safe from this girl. "That's sweet. Maybe a pre-school teacher?" He pictured her dealing with drooling kids, but still looking like she's having fun. "Me... I'm afraid I have no interesting dreams yet. I play the guitar, but I'm not sure that's what I want to do for the rest of my life."
He saw where she was pointing and with a nod, walked with her towards it. "What do you want to be? When you grow up, I mean." He asked as he set his bag down on the sand. It sounded a bit dumb, but he really wanted to know her better.
"Then, I guess it could be one." He shrugged too, looking for a spot where to settle. Noah looked over at her. He felt like maybe it was too soon to call it a date, even if it was one. He was happy even if it wasn't. "Alright, miss. Stop worrying and, enjoy the may be or not date, how about that?"
Noah looked at her in surprise. The hell? Did this girl read his mind? He was tempted to check that clock, but held back. If he did, and it was still ticking, would he still go out with her? He tried to be honest with himself. Yeah, it'd be... disappointing, but he wouldn't cut ties with her. Satisfied, he smiled at her. "Is it?" He teased.
"Sure, ask away." He smiled at her, shifting the bag to his other arm so he could confortably hold her hand. The day was perfetc for spending it at the beach, and was glad for it, or else, well.. it'd have messed with his idea of a dat... -meeting. Until she said otherwise, it was a friendly meeting.
Noah's ears turned bright pink at her praise. "Thank you." He made a flourish. Seeing her there smiling at him made him wonder too if this was a date. Not that he'd ask her. That'd be too forward... No, he wouldn't ask. He would just enjoy hanging out with her, and that would be it. "Follow me!" He called over his shoulder, starting to walk towards the sand.
He had soaked up every word, and thought it'd be nice to see one of her drawings some time. Stick figures were the most impressive art he'd ever done. "Look, I even brought lunch." Noah grinned, taking a bag from the backseat, where he'd brought some salad, some dessert he guessed she'd like, cookies, a random cupcake, water and soda. He inhaled deeply. "It smells like the sea already."
Noah smiled at Nicole, and with the CD he'd put in the stereo as background music, he started talking about his 'job' playing guitar in the streets, and about his other job, in a McDonalds, the one that helped pay the groceries and stuff, just talking with her. He pulled up when they reached the beach. "Here we are. Let's go." He said, plucking his sunglasses from the collar of his shirt and putting them on.
Noah led her outside,to his car, as usual opening the door for her. He got into his side, and checked the rearview. "Don't forget to buckle up." He reminded her with a smile. "Alright now, let's go." He started the car.
Meanwhile, he sat down on the couch flipping through a magazine until she returned. When she did, he got up inmediately. Old habit his mother had drilled into him and his brothers. "Let's go then." Noah smiled at her holding out his hand for her to take. Her hand was warm and soft, and he felt better holding it.
He was wearing sunglasses, and his signature vest, even though it looked so out of place in somewhere like L.A. "Hey." Noah smiled at her, walking inside. "No, you're fine. But, you'll have to bring a bathing suit, though. And sunblock. Unless you don't like the beach," He said pausing, not having considered that before. "If that's the case we can totally go somewhere else," he rushed to say.
(kk)Next day, Noah drove to Nicole's house in his car, finally. His brothers had teased him about where he was going but he had just waved them off. He knocked on the door, wondering if she would eventually get bored with him. Huh. That'd be just sad. He couldn't help thinking of this as a date. Maybe it was? He smiled, thinking of what she'd say if he asked her.
Noah would have liked to stay some more but he'd see her the next day so he felt better with that thought. "I'm sorry." They reached the door and he hesitated, standing there for an awkward moment before kissing her cheek. "See you tomorrow!" He quickly jogged up to his car.
"Umm... nothing, I'm alright." His phone buzzed in his pocket and he checked it, seeing it was a text from his older brother. Noah cursed quietly and stood up. "Actually, I've got to go." He said sheepishly, going into the kitchen too. "Siblings are wondering where their food went."
