1176148 I liked The Thirteenth Tale; the writing was very good and the plot was complex. I'm not sure I was as enamored of it as everyone else seems to be, as I found it tedious in spots. However, I was entertained and glad I read it.

I liked the first book in the Shades of Magic series, but not enough to continue. You might like The Archived if you liked her other series; to me, it seemed formulaic with the YA love interest, etc.

I am looking forward to these two as well; it wasn't until I added them to my list that I realized the were by the same author. I never read anything else by her.

Thanks! I find that many times, when I finally get to those older books, I'm sorry I waited so long!

I was going to start with the 13th Tale based on the comments to this thread, but now Once Upon a Wardrobe and The Archived are calling me. So, I guess that is a long-winded way to answer your question with "gametime decision" LOL! I'm sure I'll change my mind again by then!

I barely even read any of the GR winner's choices this year! I think I read one or two, which is unusual for me!

Ah yes, the freedom of ditching the "shoulds"! I did that too; I found I was always in the minority in those and just didn't care for them.

I tried that delete approach, and as I went through my oldest year, I was like, "well, maybe I shouldn't delete that one, because I remember now why I wanted to read it." It sounded good in theory, but I think I only found 1 or 2 that I actually was ready to delete, even 10 years later!!!!
