Don't we all. We have a postal strike going on here in Canada so I can only order books through my local book store. It doesn't seem to be slowing me down mind you.. LOL

I hope you enjoy.

I agree about the Xexogenesis series. Hard to understand at times but such a beautiful writer. I plan to finish Imago in 2025 as one of my challenges.

1) Mother-Daughter Murder Night Read this with a book club. I enjoyed it though a few others found it tedious. When Lana Rubicon’s husband ..."
You're having a great month, Patricia. I'm looking forward to reading The Spellshop.

I have been so bad with posting this year. But I love to be able to come back and see what everyone is reading.
I have a spreadsheet ready for the new year 2025.."
Good for you... Re the spreadsheet that is.. :)

I'm sure you'll enjoy, Linette.

It's already listed for one of my 2025 challenges, Anne. Glad to hear it's just as good. Do you think there will be a 3rd or has he closed the series down fairly well?

Start with the first Tinfoil Dossier book, Alondra. Agents of Dreamland. It's a great intro.

After a week of rainy weather, we've had a sunny day so maybe it's brought them out. They seemed to like our ivy.. I like the idea of a hummingbird Sci-Fi series.. 👍😁👌
Thanks for your thoughts.

I've completed 9 books and gave up on one, so ten books so far. To be fair, November I'm focusing on graphic novels so that makes the reading somewhat quicker. I am working some books that I've had on my currently reading list for a couple of months with the aim of having them all completed by end 2024 so I can start fresh in 2025. Anyway...
Completed
1. Ghost Roast by Shawnelle Gibbs & Shawnee Gibbs. 4.0 stars. Ghost busters meets girl growing up in New Orleans.
2. Beyond the Black Enigma by Bart Somers Space adventure where heroic spaceman enters a black hole to rescue fellow spacemen 2.0 stars
3. Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice I think it's my favorite of the month. Dystopic future set in northern Canada where an indigenous settlement loses power and communication and must try to survive. Excellent. 4.0 stars
4. Skyscraper by Faith Baldwin I gave up. Sex and the City for the 1930's. I wasn't in the mood.
5. The Extinction Parade: War by Max Brooks (#2 of Extinction Parade). Vampires continue their battle with the zombie invasion of Malaysia... Unfortunately I don't think Part 3 was ever done.. 3 stars
6. The Harlem Hellfighters by Max Brooks Another favorite of Nov. Fictional account of black regiment that fought in WWI. Due to American sensibilities, they were assigned to the French, where they were accepted and fought with honor. 4.0 stars
7. Black Helicopters by Caitlín R. Kiernan (Tinfoil Dossier #2) I still don't think I know what's going on but it's been a fascinating ride. (Sci-Fi / HP Lovecraft / Time travel??) I have #3 to complete in one of my next year's challenges
8. The Scourge Between Stars by Ness Brown Brown's first novella, a take on the Aliens' themes. Very tense. 3.5 stars
9. Lost in Taiwan by Mark Crilley Another good 'un. Sulky American teen visits brother in Taiwan, gets lost in the city. Meets lovely Taiwanese girl and grows up a bit. 4.0 stars
10. Boxers & Saints by Gene Luen Yang Historical fiction, a look at the Boxer Rebellion from two perspectives. Powerful stuff. 4.0 stars
