I'm sure you'll enjoy, Linette.

It's already listed for one of my 2025 challenges, Anne. Glad to hear it's just as good. Do you think there will be a 3rd or has he closed the series down fairly well?

1176148 Mid - November Reading Update
I've completed 9 books and gave up on one, so ten books so far. To be fair, November I'm focusing on graphic novels so that makes the reading somewhat quicker. I am working some books that I've had on my currently reading list for a couple of months with the aim of having them all completed by end 2024 so I can start fresh in 2025. Anyway...

Completed
1. Ghost Roast by Shawnelle Gibbs & Shawnee Gibbs. 4.0 stars. Ghost busters meets girl growing up in New Orleans.
2. Beyond the Black Enigma by Bart Somers Space adventure where heroic spaceman enters a black hole to rescue fellow spacemen 2.0 stars
3. Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice I think it's my favorite of the month. Dystopic future set in northern Canada where an indigenous settlement loses power and communication and must try to survive. Excellent. 4.0 stars
4. Skyscraper by Faith Baldwin I gave up. Sex and the City for the 1930's. I wasn't in the mood.
5. The Extinction Parade: War by Max Brooks (#2 of Extinction Parade). Vampires continue their battle with the zombie invasion of Malaysia... Unfortunately I don't think Part 3 was ever done.. 3 stars
6. The Harlem Hellfighters by Max Brooks Another favorite of Nov. Fictional account of black regiment that fought in WWI. Due to American sensibilities, they were assigned to the French, where they were accepted and fought with honor. 4.0 stars
7. Black Helicopters by Caitlín R. Kiernan (Tinfoil Dossier #2) I still don't think I know what's going on but it's been a fascinating ride. (Sci-Fi / HP Lovecraft / Time travel??) I have #3 to complete in one of my next year's challenges
8. The Scourge Between Stars by Ness Brown Brown's first novella, a take on the Aliens' themes. Very tense. 3.5 stars
9. Lost in Taiwan by Mark Crilley Another good 'un. Sulky American teen visits brother in Taiwan, gets lost in the city. Meets lovely Taiwanese girl and grows up a bit. 4.0 stars
10. Boxers & Saints by Gene Luen Yang Historical fiction, a look at the Boxer Rebellion from two perspectives. Powerful stuff. 4.0 stars

Currently Reading
I've whittled things down to 8 books. Finishing off some challenge books and focusing on my two 12 + challenges and my monthly focus
(Oh my. there is a hummingbird outside my window.. Do they migrate in winter?)
1. The Wind's Twelve Quarters by Ursula K. Le Guin A collection of Le Guin's short stories. This will be my 12th book in my 12 + 4 Le Guin challenge and I may stop there.
2. Dead Dead Girls by Dead Dead Girls (Harlem Renaissance #1) When I finish it will be my last book in my Series book challenge, meaning I've read 41
3. Chocky by John Wyndham This will be the 10th book in my 12 + 0 Sci Fi Challenge. I plan to finish the remaining two.
4. Wanderers by Chuck Wendig I am determined to finish this. It'll be my last Tome Challenge, meaning I'll have completed 5, gave up on one
5. In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune I am enjoying. It's one of 2 books left in my Non-series challenge. I'll have completed 38 and gave up on a few
6. The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones by Neil Gaiman one for my graphic novel challenge. I'll complete the final book in 2025
7. If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin The 2nd book in my Non-Series challenge.
8. Lore Olympus: Volume Six by Rachel Smythe Another in my graphic novel challenge

In the Hopper
1. Bring the Jubilee by Ward Moore For my Sci - Fi challenge
2. Level 7 by Mordecai Roshwald My final book in my 12 + 0 Sci Fi challenge
3. Monstress, Volume 4: The Chosen by Marjorie M. Liu
4. 1984: The Graphic Novel by Fido Nesti

(I hope to get a couple of other graphic novels in before end Nov, but we'll see. My December focus will be children's books and middle - grade books...)

Enjoy the rest of your month!
