I agree with you that it's up to parents, talking with their kids, to decide what books are appropriate. My parents never stopped me reading anything (maybe they should have sometimes) and I practiced the same with my own.
Last Night at the Telegraph Club is an excellent choice btw. Good luck with your challenge

Well, it's the end of November or rather, the beginning of December. One more month and then we move on to 2025. Wow! So a quick look at my November reading. I completed 18 books. My focus for November was graphic novels and I read 11 graphics as part of the 18. Such a neat variety. I still have two to finish in December. I completed both of my 12 + challenges, well, as far as I wanted to go anyway.
My top 3 books of November were -
1. Lore Olympus: Volume Six by Rachel Smythe 4.5 stars. I really enjoy this excellent take on the Greek gods. It's well - written and drawn and is full of neat characters.
2. Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice 4.0 stars. A new author for me, Canadian indigenous author Rice has put out a dystopic story about an indigenous community cut off in Northern Ontario from the rest of the world... and what is going on there. Great characters and always an impending doom feel. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in 2025
3. The Wind's Twelve Quarters by Ursula K. Le Guin The 12th book in my Ursula LeGuin challenge. It's a collection of her first short stories. Such a great writer. I'll continue to explore her work. 4.0 stars
December
I've started off with a very short one, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy. Just a lovely, perfect story, presented in cursive and with wonderful drawings. 5.0 stars
My December focus will be Children's and Middle Grade stories (by my rules anyway.) But I have to finish off a few as well.
- Wanderers by Chuck Wendig I've been working on this since June. I figure if I read about 30 pages a day, I'll complete if before end year. Otherwise, guess what one of my first books in 2025 will be. Interesting and so far dark story. Kind of the Stand meets.. um... well, not sure
- Dead Dead Girls by Nekesa Afia (Harlem Renaissance #1) I'm not totally sold on this historical mystery set in Harlem but it's interesting enough to keep going.
- In the Lives of Puppets by T.J. Klune A modern take on Pinocchio with neat robots. I am enjoying and want to see how it all ties up
- If Beale Street Could Talk by James Baldwin A book I felt I should try. I'll let you know. Very well written.
- 1984: The Graphic Novel by Fido Nesti It's a long time since I read Orwell's book but this seems to be honoring the text. Funny how applicable the story still is.
- Woman, Life, Freedom by Marjane Satrapi A collection of writers and artists telling the story of women's struggle for freedom in Iran. Powerful so far.
- Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson For my December focus. I've read one other graphic by Jamieson and it was excellent
Other Possibles for December
- Wonderful Alexander and the Catwings & Jane on Her Own, the last 2 books in the Catwings stories by Ursula K. Le Guin
- The Wild Robot Escapes & The Wild Robot Protects, the last books in the Wild Robot trilogy by Peter Brown
- The Blunders by David Walliams
We'll see how it all goes. Enjoy the last month of 2024.

Happy Reading!"
I think it will, Pat. Thanks and happy reading to you as well.

Like you all don't influence my reading and book buys. I see shelves in all book stores; Lea's Favorites, Alissa's Favorites, etc etc.. How do you do it?

My wife and I watched it yesterday. There were sniffles. It was lovely. She said it was like an hour long John Lewis Christmas commercial. Check on you tube if you want to see some of them..

I haven't checked too many lists yet as I'm still filling in mine and I don't want any more ideas!!!! I'm glad I've finished some of my series but have so many to go!
