Lucien nodded and finished his notes. "It should feel less weird in a few days. You may experience lightheadedness or confusion due to the loss of a portion of your soul, but because it was filled immediately, there shouldn't be anything too serious or longlasting. I estimate under a week of the side effects so your soul can process the loss and gain." He rested his chin in one palm and carefully observed Eve's actions. She should be fine. She appears strong enough to control the darkness and not let it overtake her mind, unlike me. "If you have any questions in the future, do not hesitate to contact me. I will do my best to answer with adequate clarity."

"Let us begin," Lucien gave a nod and closed his eyes. He began to visualize the process, and started mumbling the words of the spell. He pictured the young woman's soul, and took a small fragment from it. The piece was tiny, the size of a thumb print, and it was all he needed to see energy fill the space with darkness. New power was settling in the female's soul, and Lucien watched with fascination. He couldn't remember what had happened when he preformed that spell upon himself, so finally having the chance to observe it was a delight to his eyes and personal research. Amazing... If this was what the process of a soul accepting darkness, he suddenly wondered the appearance of his own soul. He could only imagine it could be filled with shadow. He had fully accepted and embraced the effects of so much dark magic many years ago. It took a while for the dark energy to finish moving into its new home, but Lucien made sure the process was secure and that nothing could interrupt it. And surely enough, he was successful. The ritual was complete, and Lucien brought himself back to the waking world.
The sorcerer opened his eyes and accidentally let out a small yawn. "That was quite the exercise. I had forgotten the effort these kinds of spells take. I thank you for giving me a chance to witness power being given to a being," he bowed his head in thanks before lifting the fragment of Eve's soul. "Fascinating..." His blue eyes observed the details of the shard. He then wandered up to a shelf and took a small, empty glass jar and gently placed the fragment inside. "How are the results?" He turned back to his notebook to record the details and success of the spell.

"Yes, it would be preferable to avoid workers of the light," Lucien nodded. "And yes, the power you were born with will stay with you. As for the nature of the new abilities, that is also a mystery to me, but you should be able to sense it after the spell is complete. I preformed a similar ritual on myself a while back," he decided to leave out the part where it was most likely to keep his sanity intact for having delved so deep into the dark arts. "Nature will give you a power as it sees fit for you. Trust in it, and you shall have what you desire."

"Oh my, a fragment of a mortal soul for power! Now that's dedication!" Lucien hadn't been impressed by such dedication in a long time. "Aye, that's a good price for power born from the dark arts," the sorcerer nodded and began preparations. "The soul is a powerful thing. A fragment will allow me to make sure the new power has some stability." Carefully studying the spell, he took note if the precautions and gathered necessary stones to ensure success. "Now, I will admit that I have no control over what kind of power it will be, but considering this is black magic, I can gather that it may have a weakness against some kinds of holy symbolism. Since this is rather advanced, there will be some physical discomfort around heavenly objects and beings. Stay for too long, and some burns will start to appear." He clearly spoke from experience, and that experience was one of the many reasons he found comfort in the darkness of his forest home. "The burns heal best in the shade. Some healing herbs are also helpful. Look for some aloe vera if it gets really bad." He worked as he spoke, getting down on his knees to draw a circle and the correct symbols, placing down the stones and finally standing up to stretch. Muscles relaxed, he took one more look at the spellbook before nodding to himself. He closed the book and returned to the borders of the circle. "Whenever you are ready, please step into the circle." He stood back and waited patiently. The last thing he wanted was to distress the lovely soul fragment he would soon add to his collection.

Lucien paused to comprehend the request. He had been shocked. It had been quite a while since this level of a desire had been brought to him. He lifted his eyes from the pages, a dark smile appearing on his pale lips. "This is an advanced spell, so do note that the price is heavy," he proceeded to continue his writing. "Of course, it's no problem for me. I did bring a demon to this world, after all," he closed the notebook after finishing and rummaged around for one of the more taboo spell books of his collection. "What are you willing to sacrifice? I have no interest in monetary value. Something personal, something that proves to me the person is willing to do what it takes to get what they desire." He picked up a large book and set it on the table beside him, quickly flipping through ancient pages before settling upon the proper spell. My, this will surely be an interesting show for sure~

Lucien was amused by the caution this young lady so clearly displayed. Good to know I still make an impact on the world. He would've hated to have been forgotten already, and all his doubts ran away when he heard mention of his own abilities. "You hear correctly, dear. I have been rather bored as of late, so I shall amuse the proposal," the sorcerer chuckled softly and opened his door for entry. "And don't worry, it looks better on the inside. Even I need organization in my home," he turned back through the door and started his first priority: Light. He picked up a candle and touched the wick to one already with flames, and used the new flame to light others. One by one the room around him was lit for a normal person to see properly, and he pulled the hood of his cloak over his head to dampen the light from his eyes. "What is it you desire, dear one, and may I ask for a name? Just the first name is fine." He pulled out another notebook and picked up his quill again to begin writing the date and details.

Lucien had been carefully writing down the days events so far when he heard movement outside his home. Oh my, what a rare occasion. He closed the notebook and rested the quill over top of it and walked to the entrance of his humble abode that he had personally made to look uninviting. Opening the door, his pale blue eyes wandered around until he found a young lady, though he had to squint to catch her. He hadn't the patience to fix the problems involving his own eyesight. "Well, hello, dear. What brings you to such a dark and dreary place?" A smirk laid itself upon the serpentine man's lips as he crossed his arms.

Personality: Astrael is difficult. He's enigmatic and unwilling to open himself up to anyone, not even to his own people. Aloof, cynical and stubborn, this man is just plain terrible to talk to if you're looking for an easy and painless friendship. Befriending this irritable demon takes an agonizing amount of time, but with patience, Astrael is actually quite a reliable person. He hardly has the energy to judge and instead he listens quietly and gives out his own thoughts, although said rather bluntly. He's protective and caring towards loved ones, though one has to notice the little things he does and says to actually see it. He never displays it out for the entire world to see, that's just plain crazy. He firmly believes that such emotions should remain private. Overall not your atypical demon.
Backstory: Astrael knew he was in trouble the second he set his eyes upon that stunning mortal woman. He couldn't help but be drawn to her, and eventually he gave in and came into contact with the freakish sorcerer, Lucien Morningstar, and offered one of his hearts, a demon's heart, in exchange for a route to enter the mortal realm so he could introduce himself to her. The more time he spent with her, the harder he fell in love and it wasn't long before his fellow demons found out about Astrael's constant disappearances. Inevitably his feelings got him exiled from the Demon Realm, but he didn't give it any thought. To him, it just meant he could finally confess to the woman. But when he did, she stared at him as if he was insane. It was only that moment when he realized she never reciprocated his feelings, and that broke him. He felt his corrupt heart shatter at the realization.
Astrael had given up his home for the woman. He gave that sorcerer a demon heart (which put him one step closer to a third and final death) and in turn broke the law of never entering the mortal realm. He broke the natural law of never interfering with life, having prevented her death on multiple occasions. He betrayed his people, and now he pays the price by living with a hole in his heart where only loneliness and hatred for all mortals resides. Even now, four years later he avoids contact with mortals. Except Lucien. He can't seem to get rid of that lunatic.

Requirements:
- I'm super hyped about this character, so I'd like to start as soon as possible
- Must start out as a slowly built friendship. He detests mortals, so earning his trust very difficult. (The role-play itself has to start out as strangers. Having patience with him is really the only way one can actually befriend him.)
- Don't give him mixed messages. That means no flirting with other people and no tsundere-based personalities. He looks for loyalty and genuineness. He doesn't have patience for people in denial.
- Has to have a relatively positive look on life.
- Pester him. He doesn't actively look for anyone to talk to.
- Give him affection, he desperately needs it.
- Giving him a reason to protecc s/o is the best way to have him willing to tolerate s/o's presence before she successfully befriends him. (Try not to rely too much on timidness, though)
- Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, no traumatic backstory. I'm sick and tired of it. If there has to be one, they must have already healed from it. I won't tolerate toxic relationships. Toxic relationships are a big no-no for my mental health.

Hence why I call it Fake French. xD

The thought of her mother's wrath sent a shiver down her spine, and she quickly pushed the scary image out of her mind to focus on the woman in front of her.

Maria skipped happily through the streets, almost without a care in the world. She had managed to make her brother smile for once! Ita's lack of enthusiasm wasn't anything new, but it had gotten much worse as of late, and that worried her. She made it her personal daily task to see a smile on the feline's face. Most of the time she succeeded, much to her relief, but when she doesn't... Seeing my little brother like that is troubling. I wonder what is going on in that head of his? She paused in her movement and stared at the sky, almost as if asking for an answer from the heavens above.

His wings are feathered, resembling that of a raven's feathers, and a span of 5'5". Thin lips with a violet tinge to them and abnormally long, shape nails coloured grey-violet. In style, he doesn't particularly care for what he wears, but he makes sure to keeps the scar over his chest well hidden. The scar is just another reminder of the trouble he went through for a woman who never even returned his feelings.
