117329 Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably add one or two titles to the list. Does anyone have any other last minute requests?

I'm really looking forward to our discussion next month!

117329 Have you read Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishguro? That might be an interesting option for later in the year.

Is any one else interested in any of the titles that Christine has suggested?

That's good to hear! I'm glad the first choices on our reading list are appealing! Our first book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks should pave the way for a great discussions throughout the year.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll look at the possibility of adding one to our reading list later in the year.

117329 I've figured out the first three books for this year. Let me know what you think!

February: Black History Month
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

March: Mystery Classic
The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett

April: Fools (bad decisions or choices)
The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

117329 I'm currently working on a reading list for the year. The list will include some requests like classics and a book by a Spanish author. My hope is to have the reading list up in the next week so that there is lots of time to read and find the titles.

Heather - I am going to try to add Descent by Tim Johnston to the list. Hopefully, we can get some copies for the library. You also mentioned that you'd like to read a Spanish author. Is there anyone you are particularly interested in reading (or does anyone else have any suggestions)?

What is everyone's reading wish list for the year? We can try to include some of your ideas in the list!
117329 Thanks for that suggestion Heather! I'm still working on the book list so I'll see if it might be an option.
117329 Thanks for the suggestions! That sounds like a good plan to me. I'll put up a suggested schedule and see what everyone thinks.
117329 Thank you everyone for joining us for the first year of our online book club! We want to make it bigger and better in 2015.

Give us your feedback. How would you like to book clubs to continue next year? Are there specific books you'd like to talk about? Would you rather just discuss what you are currently reading, than setting a specific title or titles? Let us know! You can post here or email me directly with your suggestions at rwager@regionofwaterloo.ca.

Thanks for participating! Have a happy (and safe) holiday season. We'll see you in 2015.

That is an interesting thought. Are there other topics that wouldn't be good candidates as an audiobook because elements of the content would be difficult to listen to? What are everyone's thoughts?

There are probably a lot of people who would understand that argument!

117329 Tell us about a book you are reading right now. Would it make a good audiobook? Why?

117329 Thanks for the idea Leanne! Is there a specific genre you had in mind Heather?
