Welcome to my reality Ori. In Carrie as you say her mother lock her in the closet to pray for forgiveness but it is Carrie who put's the religious symbols in the closet. She is trying to appease her mother and still be an individual. It is hard to strike a balance even as an adult imagine how hard it is as a teenager when you are just finding your feet in a wild and crazy world.

I see you are not Stephen King fans, as a fan of his I will stand up for the language, yes there is swearing and derogatory statements in his books. Iit is not to say he thinks and normally speaks that way. His characters are real people with real failings and in such they don't use politically correct words and unsullied language.
