I certainly understand what you are saying, and on stars I sort of agree. To me, 3 stars would be average. 4 stars above average, and 5 phenomenal. 1 and 2 i reserve for very bad. That could be personal preference, but that's just how I've always done it.

And yes, more reviews, and those few "bad reviews" won't be as weighted. For me it was really about this being an author reading an author, and maybe it's just a difference in how people rate, but for me, to say the book was amazing, and give it 2 stars solely based on editing issues, that was what I took issue with.

However, I went to link the review and it looks like the written review was deleted, although the rating of 2 stars is still there, so I don't know if the reviewer changed her mind and decided to delete it or what. But that's almost worse. Now there is no explanation as to why she felt the book deserved 2 stars.

FYI it was actually on Living The Way, our 4th Quarter Series read.

1114052 Yes, the split POV was a good addition in book 2, and I liked that unlike most books where you see the MC and her bestie or boyfriend as the other POV, that instead it was the bad guy. That was a good call on Ellie's part.

1114052 Dang, it seems a lot of us are or were reading A Fairy Awesome Story That's awesome. Haha.

I loved it, and cannot wait for book 2. I haven't seen the author post anything about when book 2 might release. Has anyone else?

1114052 Hey - great information that I think would flow better in the SP authors folder. Do you mind copy and pasting it there instead. Thank you.

Absolutely. I recently saw an author, review another authors book. She gave it two stars. In the review, she said the story was great, plot too, and the characters were well-developed and likable. I loved the MC, and she talked about how funny she was. Then she said, the editing errors were why I'm giving this two stars, and I was like WHAT?

I get it, I've read some that were so unedited it was hard to follow, but I had read that book and it wasn't the case. So for a fellow author to leave a 2 star review for a SP author was kind of insulting. SP authors do not have the money to pay for repeat edits, and sometimes they don't have the money to pay a good editor at all.

I was really upset by that. especially considering the story itself was amazing.

1114052 Who's read book two? And what was the stand out for you in this one?
