This month (Dec.), in 1642, Dutch explorer Abel Tasman sighted New Zealand from his flagship the Heemskerck – a momentous event that features in my historical adventure ‘New Zealand: A Novel’.

Does any of you know books like Rubaiyat (of Omar Khayyam) , the works which reflect/engross the beauty of life, or like some Changampuzha poems in Malayalam ("Come what may, I want to savour, this wine like life" - എന്തു വന്നാലുമെനിക്കാസ്വദിക്കണം മുന്തിരിച്ചാറു പോലുള്ളൊരീ ജീവിതം).
