“That’s for sure,” Kea sighed, looking up too. She mindlessly snapped, a small flame produced over her pointer finger.

“What’re you doing out here? I don’t see many out here anymore,” Kea asked.

Kea shook her head. “It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.”

Kea shrugged. “As good as one can be when faced with the threat of an old friend who wants to kill you.”

Kea laughed awkwardly with her for a few seconds, then yawned. “I know what you mean.”

“You doing alright? You seem out of it,” Kea asked Olivia, tossing a braid over her shoulder.

Kea grumbled something under her breath as she dropped her arms and opened her eyes. She blinked them when she noticed Livia, and put on a false smile. “Hey.”

Kea walked outside, closing the doors to the headquarters quietly so no one knew. She sighed deeply, digging her palms into her eyes to fight off a headache. She never planned for everything to go this way; Daegon wanted to destroy her, his followers wanted a fight, but all she wanted was for others to live peacefully.
