Regan rolled her eyes. “Idiots...” she muttered under her breath. She watched Daegon walk-in away and decided to have a little fun. There was a mischievously evil going to in her eyes. Regan thrusted her hand towards the ground. Suddenly, the ground under all around the group started moving. It was like an earthquake where the ground rolls and dips. Regan laughed. The ground right beneath her was solid and still.

“This is ridiculous.” Regan exclaimed in disgust. She turned on Daegon. “That is definitely
not how to recruit new members. Why don’t you try thinking for once?”
[Sorry if it sounds like I’m being really rude, that’s just how Regan acts.]

Regan walked and surveys the scene. “Daegon, lay off.” She stood in front of him and planted her feet. She crossed her arms, trying to look tough. “Leave her alone.” Regan didn’t know the girl, but she knew Daegon was just being a bully.

Regan stayed silent for a long time. She listened to the sounds of nature and dreaded going back.

“Maybe...” Regan said not very reassuringly. She closed her eyes again and leaned back.

“Death?” Regan said puzzled.
Oh! That must be Daegon. He definitely needs a better nickname. She looked down at the girl below. “Don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.” She said without any emotion.

“Oh really?” Regan asked. She opened her eyes and looked down at Eleanor. “And who might that be?”

“Yeah?” Regan called down to her without opening her eyes.

Regan sat down on a high branch and leaned up against the trunk. She pulled her hood down again and closed her eyes.

Regan longed to throw back her hood, but the threat of someone recognizing her was too great. Instead, she just raised it a bit and looked around. She loved nature. She loved getting away from people and just being herself. Regan took a deep breath, taking in the smell of the pine trees. She let her breath out and felt calmer.

Regan climbed to the very top of the tree. She looked out and saw a sea of green. Regan hated the hood, but at least it kept her safe. If anyone saw her with it off, then would recognize her instantly. She just might have an infamous reputation at the school...

Regan finally picked a tree. It was a tall pine with sturdy limbs branching out in every direction. Best if all, it was a little ways away from Eleanor. Regan jogged to the tree and swung on a branch, doing a little flip and landing on another one. Unfortunately, her hood slipped. It had come off a little and her face could clearly be seen. Regan fixed it with a startled glance at the girl on the ground.
I don’t think she saw... She turned away and climbed higher.

Regan was getting annoyed. She came out here to be alone and away from people, but she was stuck talking to this girl. Regan turned around, looking for a sturdy tree to climb.

“I’m fine.” Regan growled. She didn’t like how this girl was looking at her. She closed her eyes so that their golden yellow color couldn’t be seen. She could still “see” though. She could sense where things were located in the earth around her.

Regan nodded, but didn’t speak. Her outburst almost gave her away. She pulled her hood down farther so that its shadow covered her eyes.

“Dark?!” Regan shouted in surprise and then quickly covered her mouth.

Regan was stumped. Of course she hadn’t ever been there! “Uh... no... but I don’t like the way it looks.”

“Ugh!” Regan rolled her eyes. “I hate the Warehouse!”

Hello!

“What are
you doing all the way out here?” Regan said forcefully. She still had her back turned, but she instinctively pulled her hood down farther. Her golden-yellow eyes would always give her away. Everyone would know who she was if they saw them.
