"Are you sure," they chose their words carefully, "Are you sure we can trust these people to destroy MAPA? They seem to relish their...powers quite a bit," they shuddered at the word 'powers'.

Carson tugged on Daegon's sleeve to signal that they wanted to talk.

Zen chuckled, his voice coming from somewhere behind her. “Why? Pup’s are weak and pathetic creatures.” He crossed his arms, circling around her. “Why be ..."At this Carson flinched. They had been watching the battle with minor amusement until now, but Zen's words hit a little too close to home. They looked down and kicked at the ground. They wanted to go inside, but with all of these deformities around, he needed all the support he could get.

(sorry if that makes zero sense)"Nicholas frowned sympathetically. "It was somethin' like that for me," he explained and didn't elaborate. "Do ya still talk to her?" he asked, keeping his voice low so as not to alert the other guy in the room.

Nicholas took one last look at the new guy and then returned to
staring at talking to Sasha. "So, where'd'ya go before here?" he asked clumsily.

He swings down again, and hands it to him. “For you...."Nicholas accepted the bracelet gratefully, tying it around his wrist with the other one. "Nice." He was about to say more, but someone else walked in.

Nicholas smiled. "Thanks," he said, flicking his fingers absently.

Nicholas laughed and ruffled Sasha's hair. His bracelet charms knocked against each other and he had an idea. He shoved a hand into his bag for a second and it resurfaced with a simple triangle charm, which he held out to Sasha. "For your necklace," he offered, pointing to his own.

Nicholas beamed at Sasha. "'S nothin'. My pleasure," he responded and mimed tipping an invisible hat.

"Well, I guess I got you now. If I'm ever lonely or anythin' I can just find you to chillax with." Nicholas grinned again and lifted his hands to break the void door thingie over Sasha's head. It seemed to shimmer in the air and in Sasha's black curls for a second before disappearing. "An' that goes for you too. Anytime ya' need me."
{{man is lonely. wants a friend. please give him friend??}}

Nicholas was about to say no when he stopped short and sighed. He casts his eyes downward and answers in a quieter voice. "Yeah... It gets a li'l lonely sometimes," he admits, avoiding Sasha's eyes. "But, uh, it's cool. There're worse things y'know. I think."

Nicholas looked pleased with himself. "That's where I go when I disappear," he boasted.

Carson flashed a quick, small, smile that anyone who didn't know them would mistake for a grimace at Daegon to let him know they were okay.

Nicholas nods and holds his hands together, cupping them as if to scoop something. He blows into his cupped hands and suddenly, if one were to squint, one would glimpse the void. "Don't touch it," he warns, placing his hands between them so that Sasha can see.

Carson nodded to themself appreciatively.
{{so sleep is a thing ig and now i have to bc it's not healthy to not sleep or smthn like that?? idk}}

This earns a smile from Nicholas, and he runs a hand through his hair. An idea sparks in his head.
/Should I? I mean, I've been practising, and he's worth it anyhow./
"Hey, I'm gonna show you something, but you have to promise to be extremely careful." He shuffled closer to Sasha and smirked at him.
{{i'm going to be gone for a bit but i will respond when i get back}}

"I'm fine," Carson mumbles. That was a lie. They were always uncomfortable. Everything was loud and violent and everyone around them was repulsive.

Carson inched away from the group, tried to focus on the lighting hitting the leaves on the trees, but Daegon's scream pierced the ambience and poked incessantly at their brain.

Carson pretended they hadn't heard Zen or seen Daegon kill the ant. Something inside them squirmed in pain. They remained still, watching the birds in the trees converse as if everything was normal. As if there wasn't a cluster of disgusting freaks sitting beneath their scaly feet.
