[[What should they do? I don’t really remember the games they played in KOTLC. We can always do a different game too.]]

“I have no idea!” Melody exclaimed innocently which sent Ash laughing.

“Thanks! Fiona is very pretty too.” For some reason, Ash didn’t feel any hesitation talking to Cole and now Fiona.

“Did they say anything?” Ash asked. “Was it awkward?”


Melody walked over with Fiona.


“Oh, hey Melody.” Ash said. “Cole, this is Melody. Melody, Cole. She turned to the new girl. “Hi, I’m Ash.” She said, holding out her hand to shake.

Ash winced at the news. “Yikes. That’s tough.” She said sympathizing with Cole.

“Ok...” Melody said slowly like she was processing the information. “Thanks!” She told Fiona. “And I’m ok. I can find my way around.” She sent out a little gust of wind and took a few steps. She turned back. “Are you coming?” She asked.

“No problem!” Melody reassured. She paused. “Do you mind telling me what you look like?” She asked timidly. “I’m blind, so I can’t see you.”

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Melody reassured. “It just that I already have so little control over my power. It’s hard for me to keep it in line even now. With that extra power, I won’t be able to control it at all.” She smiled. “I don’t think I want to wreak havoc on the school just yet.”

For an instant, Melody felt a surge of power and control, but then there was chaos. She jumped back and jerked her hand away. “Woah! You do not want to do that.” She said breathlessly.

Melody nodded understandingly. “That’s cool. Why are you hiding it?” She asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Hm...” Melody could sense that she wanted to say something else. Being blind had its advantages. “If you don’t want to tell me that’s ok.” She whispered so only Fiona could hear.

“I’m an Atmokinetic.” Melody said. She paused. Mist people, didn’t know what that was. “Basically, I can control the weather.” She explained.


Ash looked at Cole curiously. “What happened?”

Ash walked over to Cole. “How was the party?” She asked.

“Hey, I’m Melody.” She said turning to face the girl.

Ash saw Cole and turned to Melody. “I’m going to go over there, ok? You’ll be fine, right?” She asked.

Melody hit Ash with a gust of wind. “Oh stop. I’ll be fine. I always have been.” She responded annoyed. “Now go!” She pushed Ash away.

Ash walked over to Cole. “Hey.”

Melody felt the air currents and vibrations from someone nearby. She guessed that it was a wave, but she couldn’t be sure, so she didn’t respond. She stayed by Ash’s side as they walked to the far corner of the room.

Ash and Melody walked into PE.
