Winter Garden can be a bit slow, I agree. Now that you've read The Bear in the Nightingale, definitely move on in the series. There's a lot more action straight away in book 2.

1056220 I read Red, White & Royal Blue which won an Alex Award in 2020. I loved it so much. Some of the criticism I've seen: 1. A bit unrealistic at times- I mean, we're talking about the son of the President of the United States and the grandson of the Queen of England. But honestly that didn't bother me. 2. Insta-love: Eh, kind of. But again, I don't care. I loved the story and felt all gushy about it throughout. Will definitely read more from this author.

Update: I finished the audio and thought it was a lovely book. I didn't think I'd cry but I did at the end. I do feel it could have used a bit more depth and maybe took the safe route but I would still recommend this book. I can see why so many loved it and felt it was their favorite book of the year.
