I have the same plan to use some shorter books this month.
It's time to start planning the 2021 Monthly Key Word Reading Challenge. I started the challenge in 2013 so even though I haven't, it still feels like I've used ever word under the sun. So this year, I'm opening it up for key word suggestions.

@cat @tj I agree that This Is How You Lose the Time War had a playfulness to it and I think that's what kept me reading even after I got a little bored. I admit I did skim through some sections.
The motif for August is When Text Is Not Enough. "Read a book that includes more than just text- emails, letters, maps, etc. Sometimes referred to as epistolary fiction."

The Women’s Prize for Fiction is a UK-based award honoring the best novel of the year written in English by a female author.
The Locus Award Winners Recognizes excellence in science fiction and fantasy literature.
