In my opinion the series does improve (: Richelle Mead's writing is choppy at times, but her plots and characters are great~

105559 I must say that I don't think my avid fiction-reading helps my reading comprehension much (but maybe that's just me, I'm just not a very analytic person), but most English teachers I know are huge advocates of reading anyway, haha.
And I wish you the best of luck with school and studying! ^_^

105559 I don't necessarily have a "book crush" on Day, but I do think he's wonderful. He loves his family and friends so much, is extremely respectful of June (never exhibits any chauvinism), and obviously has some pretty awesome abilities, haha. He's continuously strong throughout his never-ending ordeals, and really smart (:

105559 One definitely does not mess with Rose Hathaway xD There are times when Rose's narration comes off a little off (mostly those random reminders on Moroi society. Richelle Mead, by book 5, we are totally and completely aware that dhampirs guard Moroi. It's only mentioned every other sentence or so...), but in general, she's a fun MC to read, if not particularly likable :P
Rose can be pretty rash and reckless, but I do have to admire her bravery and loyalty. Sometimes she acts out of self-interest, sometimes she does stupid things thinking she's helping others. In my eyes, that makes her realistic, not stupid or careless~

105559 In general, I don't like love triangles that much (even when well-written), but there are exceptions. *coughTHEINFERNALDEVICEScough*
Of course, it's not, for example, a girl character's fault that two boys happen to like her, but it is the author's fault for writing it in. Multiple handsome, devoted suitors do not realistically just pop into people's lives.
I also don't really like those triangles where the MC's best friend is (obviously) in love with the MC, but the protagonist just cannot. Realize. It. Until he/she falls in love with some stranger and then the best friend declares his or her unrequited love. (This occurs in one of my favorite series, which is really heartbreaking)
