[close] This reading group will focus on natural history. We will immerse ourselves within the realm of organisms as we explore the biodiversity of the planet. Discover and discuss animal species ranging from vertebrates such as birds and mammals to soft-bodied organisms such as mollusks, worms and jellies. We will journey throughout the world's biomes via ecological and evolutionary perspectives, the microscopic connections and the life histories of different species. Hopefully we will gain a better understanding of the numerous species we share the planet with. Environmental aspects and conservation measures are also important topics of interest in this group. [close] Welcome to Birds! Eclectus Parrots (Eclectus roratus) For all bird lovers—wrap yourself in the realm of birds and share your experiences while birding! We will read books about and relating to birds, giving us a broader and newer understanding of them at the same time as we discuss species and take in birding tips. At first, birding may seem like a wasted pastime, but if looked at in the right way, reveals an outstanding world that you never thought existed. I hope to explore this world with you and learn from you in a community where we are all into ornithology, so don't hesitate, meander into the realm of feathered creatures that surround us. [close] This is a brand-new group, beginning in July 2025, for women only, ages 25+. We are women who adored the Little House books and still love them today - plus anything similar. We long for a simple, slow life like the Ingalls family may have enjoyed in their off time. Sometimes, though, we like the more suspenseful read, and we want to share about it with like-minded friends. So grab your book, your quilt, and let's go sit in the wildflowers and read!
