Schizophrenia is mostly misunderstood in the media, school shootings and other scary scenarios. Jake and Laurette McCook have written a book about Jake's journey with schizophrenia. It's written in dual perspective by mother and son. Jake bravely describes what goes on in his head, while his mother in alternating chapters opens up from her own viewpoint. This group is to discuss this brain disease and your perceptions therein. Reading the book is not a prerequisite but would certainly enrich the conversation. We're open to all of it.
