Here, those who have been accepted as judges for our TNatO contests may discuss our opinions without having people craning over our shoulders. Anyone on Goodreads is welcome to send in a request to join and judge, so long as you're all right with following the rules--and it might be a good idea to join TNatO, too, so you may keep up-to-date on what you should be judging.

[close] This is a group for my book, Little Wild Thang, A diary filled with my foster care files, mental health documents, and childhood diary entries as I fight a broken system to reunite with my mother that had paranoid schizophrenia. My diary is 3 parts. Little Wild Thang is part 1. It covers issues such as: physical, mental, and sexual abuse, mental illness, foster care, adoption, suicide, poverty, homelessness, and my unyielding will and fire to get through the hurricanes.

[close] Professionally, trial attorneys must be good communicators. We must be able to digest and analyze facts, and then convey and advocate in a convincing manner to the tribunal deciding disputes. All effective trial lawyers, therefore, are by nature good story tellers. As trial attorneys, we solve difficult problems for people, and guide our clients through acrimonious disputes and the most challenging times of their lives. Through our cases, we lawyers regularly encounter depravity and heroism, cruelty and charity, tribulation and triumph. We trial attorneys are often actively involved in our communities beyond the practice of law. We serve in all sorts of non-profit associations and religious organizations, engage in politics and the arts, coach and mentor children and adults, and educate colleagues and the public. Through our professional work and avocational endeavors, we attorneys become keen observers of the human condition and develop a heightened understanding of human nature. Consequently, we have many compelling stories to tell. We yearn to write about the insights we have gained about people and the society in which we live. Skillful writing and great books awe us and resonate with us. This Group exists for members of the Gooreads.com community who practice law, are inveterate bibliophiles, and themselves desire to write. The Lawyers Group serves as a place on the Web for such lawyers to gather, share book recommendations and experiences, and be inspired.

[close] The Courthouse Book Club (est. 2022) is an open forum to freely discuss different ideas and opinions with its accepting and tolerant members. Unless, of course, you're Katelyn and you don't like smut (get outta here) or your thinking differs in any possible way from another member (*cue yelling at each other*). We meet on Thursdays over prosecco, birdie wraps, cards, and tennis at the country club (no, we're not 65).
