Circus

[close] Kicked out from society, you wander the streets of a nineteenth-century city. You were bron a freak of some kind- missing a limb, a deformation of some kind, a half-breed, a phsycic. You were born different, and your parents didn't like it. You were either thrown on the street or given to an orphanage. One rainy day, you ran. You couldn't take being laughed at, being shunned. You ran through the forest, twigs raking at your face and arms, until you heard the sound of music. Slow, and broken up music. You came across a clearing, and saw a large circus tent. You watched for a moment, then started to turn away. Out the corner of your eye, you spotted something strange. A person, with a tail. Then, someone else, fixing a fake leg. Everyone at the circus was different in some way, and there, all together, they seemed to feel perfectly fine. They all seemed happy.

[close] It stands silent during the day, as if it were abandoned. The travelling circus is renown worldwide, but after sundown it sparks to life and the gates are opened to visitors far and wide. Performers of every trade are employed at this show, but each performer bares a secret that cannot be told. Every person under the supervision of the Ring Leader is a supernatural creature. Werewolves, vampires, witches and more, all under his control, for once he has your name, you're his puppet; his slave to every beck and call. The Ring Master himself is a mysterious man as well, being known only by that title and rarely speaking with any of the people under his command. So the stage is set. The tents are up. The audience is ready. A hush; the lights dim; your act is up In the Midnight Circus.

[close] If you travel around the world, if you stumble upon the right country at the right time, you will hear rumors of The Cirque, rumors of children getting kidnapped and mutated, to become the entertainment of a side show. Rumors of a young woman who puts on a magic show, but really is in touch with the "other side". And the most frightening of all, rumors of a Dark Ringmaster who holds them all prisoner. Eternally damned to travel the globe, in search of more acts, forever damned to entertain.
