I found zero redemption
how did he redeem himself? I feel that he just resigned to his state. Just curious. Admittedly I kind of lost my focus towards the end.
I felt that his realisations about his own character in Swift were a kind of beginning of the redemption, and then the way he approached his time in India and Japan further developed it. That, to me, was reflected in little symbolisms too, like him giving up on the Lessian blue suit for a grey one etc. Perhaps I'm overstating it though; I might go back and read it!
Ah true, apparently you are keener reader than I am! although I felt that it's more like the blue suit was taken from him rather.
