Trees might well be the nobler species. It’s not as if the human species lives somehow above or apart from nature. Credentialed scientists tell us that “people” might well end up exterminating themselves through the misguided, narcissistic belief that we cannot soil our own nest.
When making scientific claims he is scientifically sound. When there isn't enough science available, he doesn't claim any truth. Just what he thinks is the case. Also he clearly wants to use people to connect. And for people to connect with non-human species there is always a bit of anthropomorphism involved.
Humans should think a little less about their own qualities and be more open to the world around them. Knowing a bit about the forrest he manages and hiking a lot of forrests in my country. I think his 'pseudo-science' made his forrest thrive a whole lot better than 99% of other forrests. Just saying..

Well I agree with your perspective Clare. My reading was also diminished by the anthropomorphism used to explain what in fact is a response to stimuli, not conscious responses.
